Most people so far seem to like this idea:

10 rounds: 9 players and 1 coach

You can pick a coach at any time, and it can be any coach who is still alive.

An auction is 100% fair but like spy said, hell no. Making the players and coaches intermixed is the next most fair. There's no reason NOT to do it this way.

I kind of like this as well. People were hedging between 8-10 players, so I think that 9 and a coach is a great compromise, but only if you can take your coach whenever you want. It's all about talent. If you want to burn your early pick on a coach and system. . . I say go for it. Won't be my strategy, but I can see why someone would pick some of the top coaches early over role players.

No worries. I'm ready to make my pick as soon as you have the format worked out. Going to just steal the writeup from the All-Time players' draft because I just don't have the time to do it properly. Will rep whoever it was that took my target and wrote it up.
 
Picking a coach is ****ing stupid, especially since there are only like 3-5 coaches worth a ****.

You can pick any coach still alive, and you can pick a coach in any round.

See the OP for the draft order (WC got the #1 pick and traded it to Ellis, btw).

I would suggest do the draft, then start a separate one round draft for a coach and re-randomize it again. Thoughts?

If you are going to pick coaches then definitely do another darft lottery

I disagree. I've got at least 8 coaches that I like that I'd have slated at different spots in the draft. If you don't want to burn a pick early on one, then use your last pick on the best one left. It doesn't really matter that much. Opening it up to any coach still alive increased the value of the endeavor quite a bit IMO.
