2016-17 Hype Train Playoff Chase!!!

My 2 cents.... if I can choose between healthy clippers or healthy rockets I would rather play the rockets.

However, I would rather play the clippers if we have homecourt advantage than the Rockets with them having homecourt.

So in other words, I prefer 4th seed (I'm assuming we can't get to 3) and a match vs the clippers over any scenario but I would rather have the 6th seed vs rockets over the 5th seed vs clippers.

6th seed also means we wouldn't face the warriors in the second round if we were to make it that far right?

Correct

1 v 8
2 v 7
3 v 6
4 v 5

Winner of 1/8 v winner of 4/5
Winner of 2/7 v winner of 3/6

Winner of those in the WCF

I know fans want a lot this post season. I think we have a chance to beat any team as well not named GS. But all I really want to be happy about this season is a first round win. If we win another that is a bonus as well as being competitive in anything past the first round.

I think the Jazz should get as high of a seed as possible, strive for home court and not worry about the opponent in the second round, or really the first round either. Just win as many games as possible and try and be rolling healthy when the playoffs come around.

4th seed seems probable and maybe even likely. I think it is a reach to get higher and I would be disappointed at this point if we slide to the 6th seed.

I agree

Not sure if it has been mentioned yet, but CP3 needs surgery to repair a torn ligament in his thumb and is expected to miss 6 to 8 weeks.

Chris Paul to miss 6-8 weeks. That means he probably wont get into the all-star game, that might mean we get 2 all-stars.

4th place has just been upgraded to 'likely' now with Chris Paul being out.

We should get a 1st round home court against the Clippers if that's the case.

Also even though the Rockets look damn good this year I think it's still a possibility they could fall to the rest of the pack with us, Thunder, Grizz, etc.

PGAB always talks about the missed opportunity to sign Harrison Barnes, a real missed opportunity was not signing James Johnson.

Chris Paul tore a ligament in his thumb. He's out 6-8 weeks. Now is the time Utah!!! Also will this increase Haywards chances of getting into the All-Star game?

I don't think so. Paul is a guard and Hayward is forward. Can a guard be replaced by a forward? Not sure how that works.
