2016 NBA Season Notes/Info

A thought on how the "I wouldn't take him on my team for free" rumor from a NBA GM about Cousins may have came to pass.

It's probably from the GM of a team which Cousins has had some incidents against and has players, possibly a star(who knows) on his team who wouldn't like to play with him and instead of saying that it gets blown out of proportion to "I wouldn't take him on my team for free"

There is concern among some within the Knicks organization about potential ligament damage to Kristaps Porzingis' ankle, I'm told.

Philadelphia 76ers rookie Ben Simmons will not play this season after tests revealed that his broken right foot has not fully healed.

Sixers general manager Bryan Colangelo made the announcement Friday morning, saying that the organization feels there is not enough time left this season for Simmons to get himself into game condition.

Simmons, the No. 1 overall pick in last year's NBA draft, fractured his foot at the end of September and has not appeared in a regular-season game yet for Philadelphia.

It's hilarious how the Kings plan has flown over so many heads, and how easily people are convinced to be pessimists.

Even seen reports of NBA execs saying they don't understand the move on the Kings end.. I really think Vlade's comments about a better offer have been misconstrued as well..

I like Vivek, obviously I was never a Stauskas fan, always liked the Kings (not the cowbells). Mitch Richmond was one of my favorite players growing up.

The Kings are one of the leaders in the clubhouse for my new team, I've narrowed the search down to 18 teams.

18 teams and you will all of a sudden pick one? That's not how being a fan works, sorry. Also, why spend hours and hours a day on JF if you aren't a Jazz fan. You're really weird dude.

Not all of a sudden. It'll be a detailed, arduous, process of elimination. Infact I've already started a 1" binder. Jazz are on the list of 18 but one of the least likely candidates.

I still post where I used to about the Knicks too. Being a fan without a team doesn't make me anyless of a fan, I love basketball. I wont stick around here with a new team tho, my days are numbered. I'll come and go as I please tho.

I also haven't ruled out waiting til the 2018 offseason to select a team...

Sacramento is a 1/2 game out of the 8th seed in the playoffs.

@PKM: What would be your conclusion if Sacramento happens to make the playoffs the season they trade Cousins away? You probably know more nice and horror stories about him with your link to Kentucky...

Yes, join them. Their great plan to suck with cheap players and accumulate lottery picks and complete reset the culture is flying over everyone's head... It'll be funny when whichever team you pick looks to the Jazz as a model for running their organization

Serge Ibaka and P.J. Tucker came up HUGE against BOS in TOR's victory tonight in their first game for TOR since the trade.

There's a sense that BOS didn't do enough at the trade deadline to at least bolster their bench to compete with the West's elites. Did they drop a ball focussing too much on getting George and Butler, but forgetting that they're still in with a chance this year provided they can bulk up their roster with quality players?

Nope. They've got reinforcements on the way in top picks the next few years and a ton of developing young players. They win by standing pat and IT is still undercontract for dirt cheap next year.

whats flying over heads is that it's a sound move, they locked in long term assets for an asset that why couldn't afford to let expire in ~110games..

Sacramento was the 1951 champs which hurts their chances at being selected. also it sucks for them they owe a 1st in 2019 or 2020 unprotected. really puts the onus on them to 'go for it' the 2018-2019 season..

Usually teams emulate championship teams, not the Jazz.. What'll be funny is if I root for a team like the Kings and they try to poach lets say Derrick Favors and Dante Exum in the summer of 2018.. There's lots of interesting players to be signed these next 2 summers, combined with the right draft picks and player development any young team can come up -- that's how the league is set up..

Not as great as the Lakers plan of giving huge contracts to Deng and mosgov so Jeanie could fire her brother and sign Magic. That plan launched a rocket into outer space over some people's heads.
