I'm no fan of the way things have been going over the last 20 years, but there is no way in hell you're going to .Republicans, Independents, and Libertarians who think the Constitution of the United States is a great document, that socialism is the way to go...Its not gonna happen and you'll be handing Trump another 4 years.
I'm a stark raving limited government capitalist.
Democratic economic ideas are bad policy, they are not categorically unconstitutional.
The framing of "socialism" (i.e., medicare, social security, EPA, FDA, free college, etc.) versus "constitution" is a false choice. The Constitution defines the power for who make laws, interprets them and executes them. As long as those players are acting within the constitutional framework, they can vote to spend us into debt until we are completely broke. Stupid yes, unconstitutional, no.
We have a huge and growing out of control central Government today, thanks to both parties thirst for power. This is an awful state, but is it unconstitutional?
Do I want someone who makes Government significantly smaller? you bet. You need a competent person to do this. Trump? please, this carnival barker can't mange his way out of a wet paper bag. He caved to Pelosi on the budget like a meek little boy and the budget that he PROMISED to balance in his first term has created 4 trillion of new debt, growing a trillion more each year. This is while the economy is GROWING. You people know how this ends, right? In recession with no tools to dig our way out. With loss of wealth from your kids, just so we can benefit today. We are selfish bastards, indeed.
Given the choice between a box of turds and trump, turds it is. And if there are sensible fiscal conservatives (do they exist?) out there to counter the liberal box of turds, I vote for them for checks and balances.
Trump's got to go.
