2021 NBA Draft Preview (new thread)

I honestly didn’t even know about Thor’s measurements and didn’t use them to inform my opinion.

It’s all from film and I love his film. He’s not a Sene at all IMO.
Please show me one guy named Thor that failed.

The most important thing you can look for in a late first round pick is work ethic.

That is why I do not like the Makers. That is why Sene never panned out.

I havent watch enough Thor to make a decision on him but the jazz need to pick a guy who is s gym rat.

Work can make the average good and the talented great.

That is what made Gobert great. You add in a competitive fire and you find a steal.

How do you know they dont have work ethic?

You are just saying **** without any backup proof. Google Thon Maker work ethic and you get a lot of positive results. Same with Saer Sene.

Some people just arent good enough at NBA basketball and no amount of work can change that.

We need the Hammer of Thor… even if he sucks it will be ironically funny… my Jazz fandom kinda needs this boost right now.

Tony Jones said on Chad Ford's podcast that a large contingent within the Jazz wanted to draft Jaden McDaniels. The top 4 on the Jazz's board were McDaniels, Bane, Udoka, and Tillman.

So I think it's pretty safe to say that Thor is probably high on the Jazz's board. (Jones also said he would draft Thor as his top pick at 30)

Thor has a good motor. He plays with consistent effort. He has a real defensive presence when he's on the floor.

I love when stuff like that is leaked after the fact... it wreaks of "the Jazz were really high on Lu Dort" yeah well why did they pass on him 3 damn times. "Jazz were very high on 3/4 guys who appear to be NBA player 12 months later... they just selected the 1 who hasn't proved anything".

Id believe it more if they said Mcdaniels, Terry, Bey, Udoka, Bane were the top 5 left on their board…. Cherry picking the guys you didn’t take that did well is some Danny Ainge “look we didn’t get the deal done but we were very close” BS. I know they all pinned the Udoka pick on DL… but cmon

Isn't the JT Thor comp more of an Al-Farouq Aminu? Too lazy... just looking at guys with that build. Thor's jumper looks further along and like it has more promise.

Very true. I'm excited about Thor. This whole process he reminded of someone I couldn't put my finger on. I finally remembered, mentioned Sene and Cy calls me a racist. I guess those who tried to compare Grayson to Redick are racists too.

Sene was a freak. https://www.nbadraft.net/players/saer-sene/

Grayson and Redick wouldn’t be a good comp. Grayson had more of a floor game and athleticism than Redick did.

I think Thor is almost certainly gone by #30. 18 year old freshmen, athletic, productive, insane measurements, showing good shooting potential. I think mock drafts are sleeping on him big time.

I once thought Wade Baldwin was at least as good as George Hill. I’m such an idiot.
He's prolly one of my bigger misses over the years. Thought he could be quite good.

Not really a fan of Greg Brown, but he'd be a good pick in the later parts of the 2nd round (40+). He's probably even more athletic than JT Thor, at least when it comes to power and burst vertically, but he doesnt have the wing skill-set potential that Thor has.

Well we could just ask Tony if this list is coming several months after the fact or if it was based on things he learned at the time of the draft. @Tony Jones?
