2023 NBA Draft Megathread

This clip makes shows me flashes of Lebron like scoring and passing and fantastic transition ability. In the modern NBA more players are skilled, so how to create an advantage? I wouldn't worry about it. Find the skills, find the fit, find the profile and make sure that all your players are willing to be coached. His shooting growth plus his package of skills, his size and his youth is something that could easily blossom.

Whatever happened to the guy who studied prospects from puberty to college? Where’s he at these days? I assume making millions while doing nothing…but I miss him.

He's going top 10 regardless most likely
yeah, that game doesn't change anything. it was just more of the same for him - just highlighted where he has struggled all season. he has real weakness with ballhandling, poor hands, inconsistent shooting and no mid range/pull up game and you saw it all yesterday vs Creighton.

I mean it is pretty easy to look at Flip and see a younger Lauri. . .

. . .if you are Jim Boylen.
I defintely dont think he is Lauri. He clearly doesnt have Lauri's high level athleticism, but he is more athletic than people think. The key for him will be adding strength. He's a great rebounder and he plays hard, but right now his body is far from mature. If he can add strength and keep his nimbleness/coordination, he will be a tough cover.

Just look at Trey Lyles, a guy who isnt very good, but has stuck around for a while in the NBA and formed himself into a solid role player. If you are 4/5 with a versatile game and can rebound, then NBA has a place for you.

There's a lot of solid floor examples for a guy like Flip. I dont see him busting out of the NBA.

At this point I cannot feel good about wtf this org is thinking. You cannot tell me they don't want to keep winning at this point, when the clear path to missing the play in althogether, is probably going to require benching the Finnisher -that and keeping Sexton and JC on restricted minutes or out.
What happens in the next 3 games imo are going to swing what direction they decide to go imo, but who the hell know really smh

i'd love to see him back another year - no chance in hell that happens, btw - to get a better read on him whether he is more than just a scorer and to see if he can be somewhat efficient getting those points. because all we've seen at this point is a guy who is adept at getting shots up (which is a legit skill - not downplaying that), but who is wildly inefficient and doesn't really do much else out on the floor.

in his defense, the sample is very small. but it's all we've seen.
right. he looks out of shape, needed to get stronger even before the injury and anyone telling him to enter the draft, does not believe he can improve his stock for next year. Which screams red flag imo. I do think he will declare if he just wants to get to the league and figure it out later. I would be more interested in drafting him, if he owns his failures in interviews, and sounds like the next relentless worker, that matches the character of high achievers. But the average 5 star probably all got that lingo so can you even trust it without more of a sample who knows
