2023 NBA Draft Megathread

Just FYI, the mood of local sports radio in Salt Lake (specifically KSL with interviews of Thurl Bailey and other hosts) and their attitude around who might be on the team next season seem to suggest that Jordan Clarkson could decline his player option and move on in free agency. THT might do the same. They seem to be trying to subtly prepare their listeners in case the Jazz lose a couple of their 'fan favorite' players.

I still think we should've gotten what we could for Clarkson at the deadline, even if it was just 4 second round picks or something like that.

From looking at the other 3-5 2nd round picks trades, I bet Utah was looking at Clarkson for Devonte Graham and 4 2nd round picks and they didnt want to take on Graham's long-term contract.

They happen frequently... they only disappeared because the cap went bonkers for a while.
The scenario for a Clarkson SnT is actually clear as day. He wants to play for a contender (or at least playoff team) and those are the types of teams that will want him. Those teams are virtually always over the cap and he’s worth more than the MLE.

And the apron stuff isn't nearly as prevalent either.... SnT have happened pretty frequently... Sexton was a sign and trade. Lauri was a sign and trade when the Cavs got him.

The drop off from Hendricks to Dick is nothing I wouldn’t even say there is much of a drop off if any at all.
