not sure if posted already, but the ringer came out with their mock. black at 9, bufkin at 16, jett howard at 28. too guard heavy, but excellent value at each spot for utah.
None of them are accurate until the day beforeA bunch of years ago I checked every mock from NBADRAFT.NET and they hit on like 10% of our actual picks (I think it was D-Will, Kanter and Pavlovic). It'd be cool to learn which draft site has been the most accurate for us.
i don't like black enough to have any hopes dashed if he's not there at 9, but i like him enough to be very happy if he's the pick at 9. best of both worlds.I really don’t want to get my hopes up with Black because I don’t think he will be there at 9.
Have a Thunder superfan of a friend who insists they are playing 5 out with Chet the center. Jaylin Williams behind that.OKC would want a big to play next to Chet, but they don't need to use #12 in the draft to get him. They've got cap and trade assets.
Eventually. There was a lot of inefficient chucking that happened for a lot of the year before he broke out, punctuated by an amazing dunk here or there.Donovan Mitchell was pretty good
Bilal/JHS/GG. That's an interesting draft. If you cut GG, it would be 3 years contract over 5 years. At that spot why not, and it would be something he may need. I think his issues stems around economics and extreme worries around his family. It would be a big deal, but that kind of turnaround could make a good movie.Plus JHS is super mature so there is no load on the development staff. Bilal needs some help but I think he is super quick learner. So GG is the one that would need a lot of attention. Yes, let's go all in on upside.
I can see Rudy Gay helping him alot. Even Ryan Smith could spend a lot of time with this kid to help him.
Vecenie had a pod on Bilal today and I thought it hit a lot of the thoughts I have on him. Until the last couple weeks he had a usage similar to Isaac Okoro... he could be awesome or pretty meh... he's the biggest swing in the draft and it really depends on if you believe in his lower league or most recent production. I buy that and think its reasonable... i think there are lots of middle ground outcomes too. Just not quite a bet I would make at 9 but probably not there at 16.
They also talked Ausar and I think that is the guy most likely to slide to #9 of the group of Taylor, Jarace, Ausar.
The reports are now that Kyrie is likely to stay with Dallas as they are going to be willing to offer him more money and years than anyone else.
They aren't drafting Anthony Black, and if you're a Black stan you should hate the idea of Dallas drafting him because they are just going to turn him into another Josh Green.
True. Ryan Smith personally helping him will never happen but it was nice thought.Whoever advised GG to jump up a draft class didn't do him a favor. It doesn't look like he's ready in terms of maturity.
You’re obviously grading on an incredibly high rookie curve. It was clear pretty quick that he was a stud and he showed it many times. He was winning playoff series as a rookie.Eventually. There was a lot of inefficient chucking that happened for a lot of the year before he broke out, punctuated by an amazing dunk here or there.
I heard someone recently compare him to Bruce Brown (......*ducks and runs*)
A starter on a team in the Finals. Sounds like a compliment.
Freshman year college stats. Brown’s shooting regressed his sophomore year and he didn’t improve as much as you would expect. It was based on college stats, but sure...that too.
I’m able to talk myself into Ausar pretty easily.Vecenie had a pod on Bilal today and I thought it hit a lot of the thoughts I have on him. That’s Podz.Im fine with going point guard over big wing if there is a steph curry type point guard. A devin booker type point guard. A luka doncic type point guard. But if we are drafting more of a ricky rubio type point guard then no thanks. I dont want a floor general. I dont want a defensive stopper. If im prioritizing drafting a point guard then I want a dynamic one on the offensive end too.
JHS teh Devin Booker type PG. Not saying he will be as good as Devin Booker, because obviously he probably won't be, but he's the closest thing to Booker in this draft.Im fine with going point guard over big wing if there is a steph curry type point guard.
