2023 NBA Draft Megathread

They are real scary but I have a little comfort in knowing they understand their issues and are working on them... and they are A+ kids by all accounts. Since they are workers I'd be comfortable taking a chance on one at #9. I like Ausar more than Amen but I could see both being very disappointing.
This is pretty much exactly how I feel. Not sold on them at all, and I have other options I’d much rather pursue. . . but if either fell to 9, I wouldn’t love or hate the pick. Tend to prefer Ausur as well.

i'd be tempted to do that. you'd be trading 16 for the 5th overall pick and suggs looked quite a bit better last year than his rookie season - i think there is still hope for him to play up to his draft slot. not saying it's a no brainer, but it may be worth considering.
I'm still a big believer in Suggs so I don't hate that deal and in most drafts I would be all over that but this year I expect one or more of JHS, George, Bufkin and Hawkins to be available and I like them all just as much or more than Suggs.

It just makes sense. I know this is draft time and we are going to overrate draft picks, but Orlando is in an unique situation where they need to focus on converting their assets to actual wins so they can develop the top tier guys they already have. I think they could have done a better job at what they did, but I dont hate the ideas.
I like Hartenstein but I don't view his value as even close to the 11th pick. I also view Bol Bol as positive value.

Woj just mentioned the Jazz specifically on NBA Today on ESPN when asked what he's hearing about teams that could move up...said they could package picks to move up if they don't think their guy will still be there at 9.
Exactly my thoughts

Who is their guy Woj????

turns out a 7'5" KD is pretty damn good. good heavens. he's that unrealistic guy you create on nba 2k where you make him 7'9" with guard skills.

I don’t think the Jazz will select three players. They’re not a bottom-feeder team that wants to develop a bunch of prospects. They want to compete and become a contender as soon as they can. That’s why I see them use their picks to try to move up. Select a player who perhaps will be ready sooner than the other prospects at our reach in the draft. For me it would be either Anthony Black or Jarace Walker. Black because of his basketball IQ and Walker because of his physicality. Of these two, I would pick Black. He reminds me of young Kawhi with his size at 6-7, high energy, and how he’s built strong from the waist down. But most importantly, young players like Black who have a natural awareness for playmaking are quite rare. They just don’t come up often in the draft. Recently we had Tyrese Haliburton in 2020, and next year there is another Tyrese (Proctor) who appears to have this skill. And Walker, like Black, is a defensive player who plays a team game and is willing to pass the ball, which is another reason (besides his power) why I like him.

I hope Danny Ainge’s off-season this year makes last year look tame. Jazz sold high, and now have a chance to clean up in a buyer’s market with assets galore and a crap-ton of cap space and flexibility.

And he only needed one calendar year (from trade deadline to trade deadline) to completely reshape the team’s future. Wild.

Olympiakos killing Panathinaikos in game 4 of the Greek championship final ... There is some buzz that Aleksandar Vezenkov might finally come over to the NBA(Sacramento holding his rights), but I still won't believe it until I see it. He won the Euroleague MVP... He's turned into a deadly offensive finisher(he doesn't create on-ball, but has killer off-ball game with some added skill game)

he is damn good. sacto is lucky to have him and he will make a big difference for them.

I get that, but the reality is that Hartenstein is probably more valuable than the average 11th pick. I also dont think Bol Bol is ever a good player on a good team, a ton of fun though.
