2023 NBA Draft Megathread

Do you think that maybe… just maybe… we should give it some time with Taylor and not slobber over every guy that has a decent preseason game too?
Again, I had him ranked 20th. To me he is right where he should be. I knew he was a raw player without much skill outside of his shooting.

You had JHS 6th and he has been absolute trash. You ready to change your ranking on him? Imagine if Hendricks was shooting 5/28 from the field and 1/11 from 3 lmao.

No. I havent even watched a single minute of Lakers preseason. Unlike you I actually watch games I talk about. I know you're the dude who infamously made up boxscores to **** on Bilal, so it's a bit of a foreign concept for you.

Cy is also the genius who said drafting Keyonte would be worst case scenario. Makes sense why he’s clinging on to one guy who’s playing decent.

Hendricks is a good rebounder and defender but yeah not much skill outside of shooting.
I've watched Hendricks multiple times watch dudes make layups at the rim and not have the timing/effort/vision to go up to challenge.

Conversely I'm watching Bilal absolutely fly around the court to get his hands on balls constantly. Like Larsen said, Hendricks has not used his length in the two games defensively.

You know Keyonte is shooting 31% from the field and 20% from 3.....

But I guess you can only use bad percentages to hate on JHS.

You’re watching Bilal and not JHS how convenient lmao. Please never leave this site we need you around to laugh your terrible takes.

I know you are joking, but it's wild how some people who particiapte in this thread are upset when people do victory laps when this thread is all about us making predictions and being right.
Fair. Good point.

How many minutes has hendricks played in the two games total? geez brother.

Whoever has been good that was his guy is the guy he has been watching.

I've tried to watch at least a little bit of all the guys I was following in the draft. I haven't seen enough of any of them to say much, besides Wemby. Most of the 19 year old I've watched haven't done much yet.

I'll put together my thoughts at the end of preseason though, since many of these guys won't be getting major minutes once the season starts.

You’re actually being logical. What a concept.

A little off topic, I remember when Larsen compared Hendo's shot blocking to JJJ. Honestly, it's started getting suspicious for me when people are hyping guys up in such crazy ways. I think it was @seattlejazzfan who first brought this up....but chances are that he's not even going to be considered a shot blocker (depends on how loosely you want to give that label) at the NBA level and JJJ is the very best in the league at it. If you look at all the guys who you might consider shot blockers in the NBA, most of them were blocking double the amount of shots in college. I had Hendricks about where he was drafted, but if you had him that high because you thought he was a JJJ type shot blocker...you were mislead. Same kind of thing goes for the rebounding. Hendricks wasn't an ok, but not great rebounder at the college level, but I've seen that pop up a few times now. Bryce was as good/better as a rebounder, but you don't really hear that mentioned at all.

The draft is an imperfect science, but when you're off in such obvious ways that should have been very obvious at the time I think you've got to adjust the way you look at things. Even when it wasn't obvious you should do that. Or you can start whining because others aren't being homers, whatever you want I guess. Everybody knows that you "slap around" someone when you pull the crybaby homer defense card lol.

Yeah, I'm not going back to watch Laker pre-season games. When the season actually starts, I'm sure I will put in some effort to watch some games.
bad idea if you are wanting to watch your guy. Pre season is when the minutes will probably be highest for him.
