I think that's a more reasonable argument. But Durant is an insanely tall wing, and very few 3's can match him. Lebron is more of point forward, and he can be slotted into any position really. All-time great small forward Paul Pierce is barely any taller than Kobe, for example. And Kobe is long and athletic.

Kobe's size at the 3 is the least of that team's troubles.

Well it’s the combo of Kobe and West defensively that’s gonna scream “Christmas time” for the opponent no matter who they play. Jerry West is 6’3.. that’s shorter than Isiah Collier. Then you have CP3 at the point..,

Also coming off the bench you have Penny Hardaway at the 3... not sure what the thinking behind that is.

Kobe Bryant is on 12 all defensive teams and like eight of them are first all defensive teams. He’s 6-6 plenty of size to play small forward.

Well he got those accolades guarding shooting guards not small forwards.

It would be like saying Dirk is 7 foot so he’s big enough to guard Centers

Can he? Yes if needed. But not ideal. Definitely not against All Time centers.

CP3 was going to play with Kobe in LA, which Kobe does pretty well with the ball out of his hands as well. Same with Jerry West, facilitators helps with ball movement and that's the gameplan going forward. If "ball dominant" players stopped the flow of the game Kobe wouldn't of had the success he had in the Olympics or All-Star games. Penny was a selfless player, same with Chris Paul and Fat Lever. With a team full of superstars you don't want the offense to run through one "ball dominant" player, per say. This is like an All-Star game basically.

Like I said, you guys need to do your research a bit more. Kobe, as a SF dropped 60 our heads in the twilight of his career and won. Lmao.

These cats are just not up to speed on their knowledge. I guarantee I've done far more research on every draft pick than the people hating on my picks. I'd say @Coach Ellis, @NUMBERICA and a few others have done about the same amount of research, and some of the older gents actually lived in the golden era of basketball and know how great some of these 70's and 80's players are, like you. Most of these guys are speaking from personal opinion, and not on physical and statistical knowledge. They hate the Lakers, so of course @The Midnight , @Fosto hate on my team because I got Jerry West and Kobe Bryant.

Also, Penny played the 3 as well. People just need to do their research a little more.

So how many all defensive teams did he get playing at SF?
 
Kobe was a guard/forward. There was a multitude of times (per 100 possessions on the floor) that he had guarded forwards on the court. There's a reason we have images out there of him guarding LeBron, Durant, etc. Those were during the years that he was primarily a 2, but come on... let's not act like his secondary position wasn't a SF. @The Midnight
