2024 NBA Draft Mega Thread

What happened to Sarr? We like no one from the draft all of the sudden?
Its a flaming doodoo bag at the moment. I think I will like Collier but I'm not hyped about him.

Collier is great, but he's 6'3 with a 6'4 wingspan

Keyonte looks like the truth as a PG. I would hate to pair him with a smaller ball dominant player.
I think they could play together but obviously not ideal.

Yea a Collier Keyonte backcourt might not be enough

Keyonte and Giddey is the way.
I’m kinda out on Giddey. Not like he sucks but I hat his value is around the league is likely quite a bit higher than I’d go. Right now I feel great about Key as pgotf and Lauri as the huge building block. I am confident Kessler is a great piece to build with as well but if you found an elite option there you can replace him. I would plan around that for now with the other building blocks.

Obviously, but Collier is more or less equal to about 10 other guys in this draft, most of which fit Utah better.
I think he’s gonna end up clearly top 3 but that is completely thin slicing at this point. Hopefully Buzelis is good when he gets on the court or the French kid shows out. Sarr is kinda meh for me cuz I don’t really believe in the jumper developing. The idea of Holland is good but he is playing horribly and I have some concerns about the ignite system right now.

Some guys will show out here and I’ll find someone but it’s stinky thus far.

He started the season really bad. But I actually watched him yesterday against the Spurs and damn can that dude pass, good size, always trying to get out and run. I agree that he’s probably too expensive if he were available at all. But I really like him as a player especially on this team.

It's just going to be a lot of dudes who are more or less equally talented and evaluating who rises to the top will be difficult.

I hate drafting high in these drafts because hype will often get in the way of proper scouting. "Oh everyone is pretty equal, so we have to take the guys who were projected high early".

Id still firmly take Sarr #1 overall because I think you have to draft for ceiling at the #1 pick.

Outside of that, Tyler Smith is probably my #2 guy currently. He's not an elite prospect, but he's kind of better at everything that Hendricks does in more of a wings body/fluidity so I see higher upside for on ball creation.

Cody Williams is kind of in the same boat as Risarche. He had a rough summer, but maybe he looks great in college and everyone forgets. I saw Colorado highlights of his latest game and physically he looks like the kind of player you'd want and physically more impressive than any lotto pick outside of Sarr/Buzelis

I think the best purely draft related result this year is having a top 4 pick cuz you still get the best chance to find talent, but the second best option is to convey the pick we owe... even if its like 12/13th pick. On draft night make a trade for a pick if you have a guy you love and want to target.

Right snow Tyler Smith looks like a legit 6'7 barefoot wing with probably a 6'11 wingspan and an incredibly smooth jumper who can put the ball on the floor (could be bigger, I'll have to rewatch some Stars/Ignite highlights and see if I can size up him to Hendricks). If you have him and Hendricks on the wing in the future you have extremely long and athletic wings for Keyonte to facilitate to.

Smith turned 19 earlier this month and just looks like a NBA player

This paragraph is enough for me.

That guy.
