2024 NBA Draft Mega Thread

Knecht is the guy who I don’t want to pick. I think he’ll be a fine player, but I’m not really buying the shot creation stuff. I think he will be a good, high volume shooter but I don’t see as much upside potential. I think Sandfort is a much better value at 29. Sandfort might not last that long though.

OK, it was somewhat difficult to find, but it does appear that the 2020/2021 freshman class (Sears) was the last to receive the extra year of eligibility. Technically, if someone redshirted at some point, they will still have an extra year, but for the majority of that class and the class after them, they will lose eligibility at the same time.

This means the 2025 draft and to a smaller degree the 2026 draft should be even deeper than normal since more players will lose eligibility at the same time. It could be worth investing in some 2025/2026 second round picks.

Surprised at Karaban. Older prospect too. Really wanted this guy late for Jazz. Oh well. Have read he has decent foot speed (maybe can defend a bit) to go along with good size and shooting. Maybe he can crack the 1st round next yr despite it being a deeper draft.
College stars at blue bloods just have such high incentives to stay now. I thought it was a great decision. He has a chance to 3peat and make crazy NIL money.

Honestly I think most guys should stay now unless they are clear NBA players who can make a rotation within 2 years. At the end of the day the individual can only truly know if they are ready or not, but I think dudes like Cam Christie and Furphy going pro is kind of insane as neither are all that close to being NBA rotation players.

NBA teams are probably ecstatic that these guys are going back to school and making NIL money. There's going to be a better talent pool of older players for years to come, even after the COVID eligibility runs up.

Bona seems like a Udoka type player
Big strong Nigerian like Udoka
Maybe a bit more polished Much better free throw shooter etc
Not rated in top 60 players Not sure he's the #32 pick
You should have seen him at the combine. He was blocking everything and dunking like Shaq. He looks like he could bench the team bus.

Caleb Love is still going to be playing college basketball lol.
I went to college with him… jk I’m old af… but every kid from 2019-2025 can say they went to college at the same school and time as him lol.
