2024 NBA Free Agency Thread

Jonas won't be the difference between the Wizards being a good or bad team but he can help Sarr's development immensely.
Smart signing, stabilizing the team with some vet no nonsense presence.

They’ve been killing it so far since the draft.

I really like the direction they’re heading.

Good to see talent heading to the East some, it’s getting too crowded with talent over here.
I'm on the other side of that fence. I want all West teams to stockpile all the aging veterans they can, as long as those teams arent Utah Jazz and Minnesota Timberwolves.

Clippers core of dinosaurs was about to go extinct soon anyways.

On the plus side, maybe Sixers will drop down Cavs in the standings as a result.

Get ready, here comes my next hot take, since I predicted the draft spot on....

We won't acquire any significant assets during free agency.

We'll sign some minor player here and there and will dump some combination of vets like Clarkson for future draft assets. The best we'll do is gain a late-round first in the process.

Danny will bag zero big-game targets.

The FO will claim victory for being so restrained and we'll hear constantly about how we were major players in a half dozen deals that didn't go anywhere. Because implication is as good as action.

I am curious about your position here. You would rather the FO go grab anything for the sake of at least doing something rather than trying to get players for the right price? If so, who was even out there that was worthy of spending assets on?

I'm not trying to be critical. I just haven't seen a single name that thought got away.

My position is simple, we'll generally maintain the status quo. That's about it. Don't read too much into it.

We were reportedly in on Mikal Bridges but NYK outbid us... which means we stopped bidding for value reasons.

This might actually be the offseason for restraint, though.

I think that Clarkson needs to be moved. Pretty obvious. But I wouldn't send out additional assets to get rid of Collins at this point. I'd bring Dunn back.

The biggest thing evar is R&E for Lauri, obvi.

JC x 2 for Lavine + 1st.... this makes me curious, but I probably wouldn't pull the trigger without additional compensation. That feels like a lot of $$$risk for us.
