Can somebody update the draft board for me? I'm going to be on a cell phone all day. The third round will be the same order as the first round.
I have an idea that I that could expand on this draft a little bit and give us a better idea of who formed the best team. I ran it by Stern and thought it was a good idea, so I thought I would propose it to you guys as well. I didn't participate in this draft last year, so I don't for sure, but I think people just voted on who was the best team, correct? Well, I just came across this cool website awhile back called, https://www.whatifsports.com/. It allows you to build a fantasy team based on a budget and players are assigned dollar values for each season they ever played and simulate results against other teams. For example, AK is worth about $7,000,000 for his 03-04 season and about $4,000,000 for his 06-07 season. It literally has every player that ever played for the Jazz, up until the 2008-2009 season (so Wes Mathews wouldn't be able to be picked). But basically my idea is that we transfer the picks from this draft and have that form a roster that we simulate against each other. People would have to choose just one season in which the players you picked played for the Jazz to use. But people would have to fit their roster under the salary cap (42 mil), so they may have to take a less valuable season from a player to fit under the salary cap if necessary (like me taking AK's $4,000,000 mil season instead of his $7,000,000 mil season). The rosters would to have 12 players, so we would need to add 2 rounds to the draft.
The website offers free private leagues that goes for about 10 games (a full season costs $10 per team). I believe you're allowed to be several free leagues (I'm not sure if there's a limit or not though), so hypothetically it could go longer than 10 games if people wanted. I think 6 teams could join per league, so there could be 2 separate leagues, if people are interested. I've used this website before a couple of time and it's quite good. Anyways, hopefully what I explained wasn't confusing. I can answer any questions you have, if you are interested. I think this could be a really cool way to see who has the best team.
If we did this it would really change the draft stratagy. Guys that were great for most of there carriers but struggled with the Jazz would be drafted much higher. (like me taking Dawkins). So if we do this then we need to know ASAP.
I personally would love to do something like this.
Well, part of a requirement of the league would be you would have choose one of the seasons in which that player played with the Jazz, not their whole career (because this is a Jazz draft).
Is Trout really so dumb he didn't realize he had back-to-back picks?
