A bit of trade speculation surrounding Cousins...

No f'g way. You have to be a blockhead to ruin your team for the next decade with a move like this. You think having Corbin as a coach was bad. Cousins is probably one of the worse pieces of crap to come into the NBA since ... I can't remember when. Who cares how talented he is. How would you like someone who is both mentally ill as well as a complete a-hole to move in with you?

Counsins may be a better player, but Favors is a better man. So no. Why potentially ruin what we have now when we haven't even seen "this fully armed and operational battle station?"

Cousins will got to LA or some place like that. He is supertalented and if properly managed by a great coach in a solid veteran team, look out.

I'm with Hawkeye. I want nothing to do with Cousins. Talented as hell but a hot head cry baby.

Lol at the Favors and Hayward for Cousins.

Debatable .. only IF there is a big difference in talent. Personally i think Favors has a more than adequate level of talent and am comfortable with what he can deliver combined with his high character. Someone shouldn't need to be in the perfect environment to be a professional and not behave like a petulant child.
Great post.
Cousins may be a fantastic basketball player, but favors is not that far off from cousins.... If at all

I couldn't watch Boogie for 82 games. I think he puts up monster numbers but until he plays with an alpha that can force him to cut the crap he won't be on a winning team. Not that its the best source ever, but Locke says some of the NBA people think he may be one of if not the worst teammates in the league... like not in a Kobe/MJ he's an ahole that wants to win... like in a he's just an ahole way.

IMO there is far more to be lost than gained by pulling the trigger on a trade like this. Even if Cousins is a better offensive basketball player, this move would likely have a negative impact on every player we retain. DL is not playing fantasy ball where you simply try to grab the guys with the biggest individual stats and put them together regardless of fit or chemistry. There is much more to it than that, and in every category other than offensive stats Favors is better than Cousins.

I would cease to be a Jazz fan if Cousins wore a Jazz jersey. Plain and simple. He flops too much, complains too much, and I don't see a defensive commitment in him.

While i agree with your premise, this part is just not correct.

Cousins is equal or better than favors at EVERY single statistical category except turnovers and fg% (but still makes more points per shot and points per possession than favors does because he lives at the FT line and shoots a good % from there).

Ya guys!! This Jazz team has the best team-chemistry we'e seen in years! Maybe decades!!

Soooooooo let's trade some of our athletes for Cousins. Makes sense.

There is an obvious trade out. Cousins to NY for draft picks. I mentioned this a couple weeks ago, but it just makes too much sense. Jackson needs another all star to pair with Carmelo, Jackson becomes coach and they all ride off into the sunset...and blow up in a fire-y mess. Lol.

Get it done. I'd love to see Fisher stuck with Carmelo and Baby Cousins. I'd love to watch Jackson crash and burn without officials ther to bail him out.

Please let this disaster happen.

Just watching when we played Sacramento a couple weeks ago, I was reminded why I would not want that guy on the Jazz. He has to be one of the worst teammates I have ever seen. He was always complaining, yelling at the refs, and yelling at his teammates. I have had an an experience with a guy like him and for that reason I wouldn't trade a second round pick for that guy.

I had a teammate that was exactly like Cousins on the court. He was admittedly the best player on the team, individually, and had the talent to play div 1 ball (ended up playing at a JC in California I think). He was always yelling at somebody, complaining to the refs or coach, and always blaming everyone else. He never took ownership of anything he did. If he made a bad pass it was the other guys fault for "not being where he should have been." If someone missed a shot he was yelling at them for not getting him the ball. If his man beat him and scored he was yelling at everyone else for not rotating. The first few games nobody yelled back or yelled at him when he screwed up. Nobody knew how to react and play with that clown.

As the season wore on we all grew tired of him. We would start to hope for him to screw up so we could fire back at him and yell at him for screwing up. If he got beat, nobody wanted to rotate and help him out. Even if he was open, we stopped passing him the ball as much. We hoped for him to fail and didn't try to cover for his mistakes, because he wouldn't cover for ours. We weren't playing as a team and as a result we lost a lot of games despite being one of the more talented teams. Then, with 5 games left in the season, he sprained his ankle and didn't play the rest of the season. Although we lost our most talented player, we went on to win our last 5 games; two of which were against the top two teams.

My point with this story is no matter how talented Cousins is, and he is extremely talented, I do not want him anywhere near this team. I know how the rest of our team reacted to this guy and how I could see other Jazz players reacting similarly. The Jazz have amazing chemistry right now and bringing a guy like Cousins in would be detrimental to what they have built. The great thing about this team is you see everyone is out there playing for everyone else. Nobody is seeking stats or individual glory. Many have also expressed their need to improve individually and have taken ownership for their mistakes. With these guys improving the next few years, this could be a special team.

Exactly... Not only the locker room issues, but the way he plays... the whole offense is centered around Boogie. I like that our offense moves the ball and think it will be more effective than having one big scorer.

I could see this happening if it wasn't for the ownership and coach both wanting to win now. If Boogie gets traded some future pieces will be coming, but most likely some win now stuff as well... Maybe a 3-way with Lawson and stuff going to Sacramento the NY pick going to Denver.
