A brush with destiny -- Celtics at Jazz 3/28/2018 7:30 pm MST

IOW, infection is going to keep playing hard, right when things seem dire, thereby exemplifying what the Jazz will do.

True confession: I've work my lucky socks (actually I rotate 3 pairs) on each game day through the streak. I didn't wear them twice in the past while: when we played Atlanta (I was in Canyonlands, wearing more rugged socks) and v. Boston (all three pair happened to be in the wash that day). My contribution will be to don the lucky socks through the rest of the season, no exceptions. Gotta dig it out when things get tough and wear the socks.

You mutha ****er!! ;)

I agree with this, but I'd also say Quin should draw up some scenarios that we can use while Mitchell is going to work. Instead of just spreading the floor by standing around, other guys could be setting screens, trying to open up other possibilities while Mitchell is going to work. Other teams scouting us will know iso Mitchell down the stretch. So prepare for their preparation. Maybe Quin is already doing that, though. I'm no wizard.
Agreed, but from the looks of it they’re letting Donovan call the shots of what he wants to do. You see him call for/wave off screens down the stretch at times. Sometimes he could use more of a plan for sure or a play call that he has to go by, but it doesn’t appear that’s what Quin is doing right now. He’s giving Donovan a lot of freedom to call the shots and decide what he wants to do. Quin, us, the whole franchise wants playoffs but I think they just as much want Donovan to succeed and get better. Playoffs are great, we need to get in them, but betting on Donovan’s development and growth is more important and worth a few bad results in the short term if it helps in the long term. It appears that’s the plan, is give him freedom and ride with the results of it right now. Dante didn’t play very well in the first half and he got yanked pretty quick. Second half he played better and was given more time. It appears Donovan has all the freedom in the world, and really that’s probably the best call.

I dont consider an additional minute as being given more time. Technically yes but no.

Way too much iso with Mitchell towards the end. We should mix it up a bit more.
I agree, especially the running down the shot clock then trying to get something. Run some plays or run iso early. If you get an open look great, take it. It's better to get points than run down the clock. If you don't get a good look back it out and try again.

To my eye it's becoming apparent that the organization understands that this ins't the year we go all the way. The are letting one of our two obvious future stars learn on the fly and grow into the player he will become when we are poised to make a run. I would really love to see a playoff appearance for the opportunity to grow in that aspect but at this point the Jazz have met (or exceeded) my expectations for this year. I was really hoping to go .500 and that is now assured. Anything else is gravy.

I don’t understand the minutes for Favors or Exum at all. It has to chap Favors *** to see Crowder getting the crunch time minutes. And I don’t understand why Exum can’t have some of Royce’s minutes.

Exum really needs to be playing at least 20 minutes a game at this point. Anyways, felt like the end of the world last night to me, but nice to see in the standings that we're still only 1 game back of the 5th and 6th seed. It's not over yet.

Last night hurt pretty bad cause it was Boston, there were quite a few of their fans in the arena, the Jazz had that game won and gave it up, Boston didn't have a full squad, it was mistake after mistake, and it hurt for a lot of reasons. Luckily tomorrow should feel better.................should.

I can't stand opinions like this. I mean in this how you live your own life? You hit a bump in the road and you pack it all up and quit? What in the damn hell is wrong with you people?

Understand that other than a small few of us, the majority of this site wanted us to tank very badly for most of the season. Whether they admit to it or not, that was very strongly the case. Fair weather to say the least. No faith.

F*** man we’re in the middle of a playoff race mistakes like this cannot be made.

Mistakes like these can be made on a team whose leading scorer is a rookie, whose roster was massively upended and has only played together less than one season, without the incoming aid of already-all-stars, mistakes like this will almost certainly be made!

We've been on a two-steps forward, one-step back trail for a while now. As long as we keep that up, we'll make the playoffs for sure, and maybe even grab a higher seed.

Luckily tomorrow should feel better.................should.

Or it'll be a hard-fought win, within ten points, and a bunch of people will say "see, this means we'll lose to playoff teams by 60+!"

This is 100% your fault and I expect you to wear the socks the rest of the season... during the games you are only allowed to wear the socks... socks and nothing else.

Don’t ruin this for the rest of us.

The Memphis games are just the worst... will be a grind fest unless they are just completely done.

I think he was talking about your socks.

Stevens was going with a super quick lineup most of the game. Watching them play team D, wow, light speed rotations. So can Favors use his size to make them pay on the other end? Usually the answer is no, and Quin felt safer with Crowder. Problem is Crowder just isn't that good. He can't rebound, Can't get to the line, and lately is missing most his 3s.
