I want this young, deep team to run more... even after made baskets. However the jazz have a plan/rule that after a made basket a designated player (the power forward usually i believe) always takes the ball out of bounds and always inbounds to the point guard.
So say milsap is playing power forward and is the designated man to take the ball out. On defense he gets caught on a rotation that requires him to run out at a 3 point shooter and the shooter makes the shot. Now rather than just whoever is closest to the ball after it goes through the hoop taking it out and getting our offense up the court in a hurry, instead milsap has to come back and take the ball out.
I would like to see whoever is closest to the ball take it out and also if hayward, miles, burks, etc are right there to take the ball on the inbounds and harris, watson, tinsley are not in a good postition to recieve the pass then just pass it in to whoever is available to recieve the pass.
I think this would get our offense running more, and also it seems like the designated inbounder (probably a made up word) always has to run from baseline to baseline on every play because of his responsibility to take the ball out everytime so that player would be getting tired.
