A MASSIVE recap of aa BUNCH of threads consolidated into one

I posted this is another thread:

Same thing goes for Biedrens. We all take for granted that he sucks and assume he'll play spot minutes. Not so. As a guy who once averaged a double double, Ty Corbin will see him as a guy who's proved himself in the league and has the experience (see: years in league) to prove it. Ty knows he can't keep both Favors and Kanter on the bench. But just because he can't keep both of them on the bench doesn't mean both of them will start. Biedrens is a very real starting possibility.

Biedrins hasn't been a factor since '08/'09. I'm not worried AT ALL about Biedrins or Jefferson. Last season Ty was managing JAZZ players. There was loyalty to AL and Paul because of the years they had played with Utah. There was loyalty to Bell because he had been a valuable player after John and Karl left. And the Jazz went after him in free agency. None of that holds true with Biedrins or Jefferson. Al and Paul had trade value as players. Marvin and Rush may have some value as well. Biedrins and Jefferson ONLY have value as expiring contracts. RJ probably gets decent mins. early on due to Marvin's injury, but that's it. There is no obligation on our part to give them mins. And I think Lindsey has made it abundantly clear to Ty what the objective is for this season. Deviate from it and Ty won't be back.

whether or not trey burke fulfills the value we paid for him, is almost inconsequential when comparing options in the draft. but his arrival basically meant we werent going after big name PG's in free agency, which is where i was hoping wed go

and yes they spent money, but on andris beidrins and richard jefferson....

the jazz could have been contenders, this year, they have chosen to go with a well timed youth movement..

they didnt fix the deficiencies, they PR'ed it as the jazz problems were self inflicted, gave the fans the Point Guard of the Future they so desired, now the plan is to play mediocre ball

the jazz are aiming for mediocrity, could have loaded the warchest much better

take a backup pg (Schroder @14) Plumlee@21, paid up for Gobert@ 27, and then Neto

then spend the $$ in free agency, specifically on Jeff Teague and Tyreke Evans

i know we wouldent have Andris Beidrins and 2 warriors draft picks, but i think the jazz would be way better next season

a roster with that much young talent is sure to be able to package assets into a bigger star, plus the way i see it Teague@8/per year and tyreke@11/per are always tradeable, so idont see the salary cap conflicts

Teague/Schroder/Burks/Neto
Evans/Burks/Hayward
Hayward/Evans/Burks/J. Evans
Favors/Kanter/Plumlee/J.Evans
Kanter/Gobert/Favors

This roster is a 6-8 seed at best and would have cost us a chance at a top pick in next year's draft..

And 6-8 in years to come, with no space to sign additional FA's. In fact, because of overpaying for Tyreke, and to a lesser extent, Teague, we likely lose Burks and maybe even one of Kanter/Favors/Hayward...unless the Millers are happy to pay luxury tax for team mired in the bottom half of the playoff bracket each year.

Yep. Not sure why people continue to want us to sign mediocre players that won't get us anywhere. Haven't we been through this already? Go young, lose 50 games and then add a star in next years draft. Then use the cap space next year to fill out the roster. And if we do make the playoffs with this roster then our guys greatly improved, in which case we still have our cap space for extensions and to balance the roster. And with all the draft picks we have we could still move up for a decent player in next years draft.

Only way to **** this up would be to sign mediocre players like tyreke to long term contracts and therefore lose all our flexibility.

So..... we suck it BIG time and end up with the #2 pick.
Curry rolls his ankle, twice. Bogut gets injured.. Iggy retires to be Tibetan monk... and we get the #1 pick.
We pick up Rondo in FA and still have $17MM to spend.

Rondo/Burke
Wiggins/Burks/Hayward
Parker/Hayward
Kanter/Favors/Parker
Favors/Gobert/Kanter

I believe a couple of guys on here just cancelled their pornchannel subscription.
One source, who wished to remain anonymous but is a Latvian actor who excells at amateur porn, confirmed:"PKM is a threat to the porn industry"

Dude, I had the same dream last night. That's gotta mean something.

I can't take anyone seriously that is bashing Burke. The only reason we're even talking about it is because we wanted to keep riding the high of getting him, and all those missed shots kinda killed the buzz.

But to try and take anything that happened in three sloppy summer league games and use it as a counterpoint to everything he's excelled at his whole career... it demonstrates a complete failure of analytic thought, and it makes you look ridiculous.

Wait for more data, and, more importantly, wait for that data to come from games that even remotely resemble what Burke's experience in the NBA will be like when he's calmed down and confident.

10/10
