Whose defense is worse? Big Al? Or boozer? I had a long discussion with one of my buddies on this and I said Al's was just as bad as boozer but he thinks al is way better on D. Why the f*** doesent Ty put favors in during defense first situations ? Tom thibbedeo takes booze out in those situations and puts him back in the next possesion. They have one of the.best defenses in the league. Defense wins championships.

Good question. I will give Al he just seems naturally slow. Boozer always befuddled me because he seemed naturally quick, but slow as **** on defense.

They both seem like semi-interested observers whenever someone comes into the paint, like someone ran past them in the mall and they are confused as to what all the ruckus is about. Dead heat?

Al helps protect the paint better, Boozer was a much better rebounder, and both are terrible guarding the ball and helping out. I'd say it's a wash.

I'd take Boozer's rebounding and offense over Al.
But I'd take Al's length and defense over Boozer.
But if I take Boozer's rebounding, I take Al's ability to never get a foul.

They both sucked on defense.

al occasionally blocks a shot, so it's easier to believe that he's better than booz. but his lateral movement is HORRIBLE and he NEVER jumps. boozer got low, stayed in front of his man, and then got pwned anyway... but at least you saw the defensive fundamentals there.

I gotta go with Boozer being worse. Not that big Al is any better, but based on the situations. Almost every team has the power foward being really involved in offense. So Boozer hurt us almost every game. There are only a few teams that have solid offensive centers, so Big Al only hurts us every 4th or 5th game.

team defense, homey. al hurts us nightly. go watch the baseline jumper nash hit last night with 14 seconds to go. al gave him about 8 feet of space as the primary helper on the play. and that's just ONE example.

The problem I have with us believing that Boozer is a worse defender is that Chicago is a top 10 defensive team whereas we're a bottom 10 team.
This leads me to think that Boozer is a better team defender than Al. But Boozer might not be as good as Al is on isolation and post defense.

I dont see Boozer making that play either though. I was not saying Big Al is an awesome defender. They both are very weak team and individual defenders. My point was that Boozer faces someone nearly every game who was expected to score and his individual weakness is highlighted. Big Al does not face as many scoring centers so his weakness gets hidden more often as an individual defender.
