Aaron Gordon With The 5th Pick

Gordon has been working hard and is excited to play defense.

Andrew Wiggins sounds like a nerd.

Joel Embiid ironically likes Miley Cyrus.

Gordon #1 IMO

Thing I love about Gordon is that he is a great natural passer. You can tell he has a high IQ just by his court vision and willingness to pass.Think players with that kind of IQ and his work ethic are just bound to succeed.

agreed, 100%. But I just can't shake the discomfort for where his offense is. I wanna see workout vids where he's draining threes and free throws.

I won't be disappointed if we get him, but, IMO, there's a substantial difference between Gordon and Wiggins. I had all teh hopes 4 Wiggin, man. Oh well.

The only thing I don't like about Gordon is that he uses the word "eloquent" way too much. It's really annoying.

I am really starting to like this option. Gordon could be as good as anyone in this draft. He is SO quick in his jumping.

Why couldn't he be a SF? If he works on his J. He can definitely defend those quicker players.

If the Jazz stay at #5 and the top four picks go as expected (Wiggins, Parker, Embiid and Exum) then Aaron Gordon is the guy I'm hoping they pick. He's just barely scratching the surface of his potential, he's already a great defender and I think his offense will improve with time and coaching. If the Jazz go with anyone else instead, I hope they try to package #23 and their pick next year to move up and nab him from a team that needs cap space and/or assets. This would be a very good year to aggressively go after two lotto picks.

I would love a draft of gordon w/ #5, and something like -#23, #35, and rights to Tomic so we could snag lavine in the teens.

I see both of these kids as having the highest ceilings out of anyone not named embiid, wiggins, or exum

Don't know if that's even enough to move up that far. I wouldn't be surprised to see Lavine jump up into the top 10 based on his potential. I can see why you'd make that move, but I don't think those pieces are enough.

The thing I really hate about Lavine is how he tries way too hard to sound ghetto.

Lavine seems boom or bust to me. I'm all for an aggressive move up, but if they do that I hope it's for a more consistent player. Somebody that we've got highly ranked is likely to fall (Barnes, Leonard, Burke, MCW, etc.) - that's what they should be prepared for. Moving up to take advantage of whatever opportunity presents itself on draft day. Based on the last draft, I have faith that DL will be poised to do exactly that.

I think Porzingis can match Gordon and Lavine on raw upside, from the footage I've seen anyways.

So if we draft Lavine and Gordon, the two can balance eachother out, as one will try to sound smarter, while the other will try to sound thuggish-ruggish-er.

Perfect draft, IMO.

He's certainly dope, but I don't see him as worth messing with the Kanter, Favors, Gobert trio's development anymore. I assume you want him as a draft and stash, but what about glaring needs at SF and the point? This draft has better options than most in recent memory for those positions.

Only big I'd be willing to draft is Embiid. I see A. Gordon as a 3/combo forward, so not really impacting the development of three of our current guys with highest upside on the team.

Please no LaVine. The dude doesn't know how to play. Jumping is cool though, amiright?

So is shooting, height, length, speed, first step, and fast breaks on an already athletic team in altitude.

By all means, lets draft another rotation player with our second pick... Cause that will be so epic and different from what we have.

I'm all for Gordon at #5. He's a smart and very athletic defender. He can guard multiple positions and makes smart plays. Our defense needs a stopper on the perimeter. If Gordon plays at the 3 then I guarantee our defense looks much better and Favors and Kanters D looks better too.
The dude is raw on offense, but is explosive and has crazy energy. I think he will get better on offense too.
I don't wanna see us draft Vonleh or Exum if they are available at #5.

I think Gordon is the way to go. Great athlete, tremendous defensive potential, quick enough for SF so that he will punish SFs inside. Needs work on his shot, obviously, but will be a quicker, smaller version of Favors, and won't impact playing time of the Bigs. Weakness is he can't shoot the 3, but neither could Millsap when he came up.

LaVine is soooo far away from helping us on defense. There's a good chance he'll never figure it out / develop a body for it / etc.
K.J. McDaniels has starter-potential as a 3&D guy. Get him.
