Adoption...

So why wasn't adoption not even considered?

Chelsea Handler’s life hasn’t always been full of laughs.

During an appearance on “The Rosie Show” this week, the outspoken comedienne opened up about the abortion she had at age 16.

"I was so delusional," Handler, 36, said Wednesday. "I was like, 'I'm ready for a baby.'"

The “Chelsea Lately” host said that while she was excited about the idea of becoming a young mom, her parents weren’t so pleased about the situation.

"I was trying to argue with them and they were like, 'You don't understand," Handler explained. "'You're throwing your entire life away. You're not having a child right now. This is not what our family's about. You know, you're supposed to create a life for yourself, and we want you to enjoy your life and not be raising a child. And we're certainly not going to raise it for you.' "

Ultimately, the New Jersey native said her parents, Rita and Seymour, convinced her to abort the pregnancy.

Two decades later, Handler said she has "no regrets" about her life-altering decision.

"I wouldn't be a good mother," she shared. "You should do whatever you want with your body and you shouldn't let anyone tell you what to do."

Im not trying to get in an abortion discussion but why in this case is adoption not even considered? Chelsea's parents didn't want to care for the baby nor did they want their daughter to. But Im sure there was a couple out there that couldn't have children that would have loved to care for that child.

Especially in these current times as gay marriage has become more mainstream. In cases like this adoption should be the first option since there are so many eager people wanting to be parents.

Now I didn't see this show so it could have been mentioned. But adoption was not mentioned in this article which I think is sad. Nor did Chelsea mention a regret that she just put the child up for adoption.

how do you know it wasn't considered? maybe it was but she figured she'd rather abort than go through a pregnancy and end up without a child. based on what's quoted above about something that happened 20 years ago, we really don't know the details of the discussion at all.

Like I said I didn't see the show but nothing about it was mentioned in the article. Which the article makes it sound like there were only two choices.

Image! If she carried the baby full term then neighbors, friends, acquaintances at church, etc would know. With abortion, she probably wasn't showing yet and they could pretend it never happened. Some people worry more about what others think and their status than about their own family.

I like where she said it's her body and can do whatever she wants with it. Abortion isn't exactly doing something to your body. You're doing something to the body growing inside of you.

When I opened this thread I thought it would be about how BeanClown was mercifully giving his kids up. Alas, it was just another self-righteous crap fest.

It's cool Fishdick, you being wrong is like the earth being round.

I couldn't agree more.

https://www.icr.org/article/earth-really-round/
Without a doubt, Earth is round, or nearly so. Using careful measurements from the ground and observations from space we can be certain it is essentially a sphere, with only minor bulging near the equator.

https://www.universetoday.com/25893/is-the-earth-round/
The actual shape of the Earth is actually an oblate spheroid – a sphere with a bulge around the equator. The Earth is bulged at its equator because it’s rapidly rotating on its axis. The centripetal force of the rotation causes the regions at the equator to bulge outward. And it actually makes a pretty big difference. The diameter of the Earth, measured across the equator is 43 km more than when you measure the diameter of the Earth from pole to pole.

So essentially, I'm never wrong. Shocking news, I know -- thanks for pointing it out, again, Cap'n Obvious.

Dear God, tell me you are joking.

Way to take Haywards name in vain to look awesome -- I bet your bishop and The Joker would be so proud. Also, you'll notice that I bolded the really hard to understand parts for you. You're welcome.

Adjective stupider
1.comparative form of stupid: more stupid
More common in American English. Less common in British English.
Occasional target of prescriptivists, despite common usage.

https://www.grammarphobia.com/blog/2009/02/stupid-stupider-and-stupidest.html
The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language (4th ed.), gives the forms as “stupid” … “stupider” … “stupidest.”

And this isn’t a peculiar Americanism. H. W. Fowler’s Dictionary of Modern English Usage also gives the correct forms as “stupid” … “stupider” … “stupidest.”

And look what else I found, which I thought was amusing:

https://www.reference.com/motif/Reference/is-stupider-correct-grammar
"Is stupider a word?"

"Stupider is not a word, so it is improper grammer. The word stupid used that way properly would be more stupid or less stupid. Stupid is a strage word anyway but you can find out alot more about this subject by typing in: is stupider a word under google."

Like I said before, ClownShoes, most dictionaries out there agree with me, but on the flip side, most of the numbskull dip ****s out there agree with you. Go you!
