What's new

Al Jefferson is not tradeable.

Unless you want Utah to tank Al Jefferson is untradeable throughout the season.

...he's untradeable, but not for the reasons you think! He's a black hole in the post, plays no defense whatsoever, and his contract is like having a giant gorilla on your back jumping up and down!

/sigh

Let me explain something to you Brown about basketball

When you take as many shots as you score points, that's not good basketball
When you don't play crap for defense, that's not good basketball
When you don't hustle after anything, that's not good basketball
When you routinely don't box out, that's not good basketball
When you get to the line... Well hardly never, that's not good basketball

Right on the money with your comments, I agree 100% with everything said.

I believe the appropriate phrase is "African American hole."

Man I hate crap like that. First off shouldnt it be something more like Nigerian American or ZImbabwean American? Then only if you have citizenship in both countries. I have as many ties to Africa as most of these people saying they are African American. If you are born here, raised here and have never been to these other places and have no connection...guess what you are not part of that group.

Nothing wrong with being African and if you are then that is cool. Political correctness is crap.

Edit: I can see pretty far from the top of this soapbox. Couple of you need to invest in some rogaine or something...

Al is making it hard for me to defend him. I really got pissed on that Hayward goal tend. Al just plain quit on the play. That is a game breaker for me as far as Al goes.

On another note, am I the only one that thought Millsap was stagnating the offense last night, like Al does all the time. Most of his shots were forced. There was a post play by Millsap early in the third, where he was being defended by Cousins, it seemed like he tried for a long time to get his shot off but couldn't. Instead of passing it out he decided to force a bad shot that had no shot to go in. We need to trade both at the end of the season. I don't think either is part of the future. After this year if Millsap isn't willing to come off the bench, he shouldn't be part of the Jazz future plans. Favors needs to start next year. I'm not 100% sold on Kanter starting next year. My mind could change depending on how Kanter plays the rest of the year. I want to see how he progresses the rest of the way. In order to start he needs to figure out how to finish at the rim.

Umm, there is a reason you live in Southern Utah.

And, now you are home where you belong.

Oh yes clearly you know everything about me and my stances or where I need to be. As for being here I'd rather be elsewhere like those cities listed above. But hey that doesnt fit your view of the world so keep on keepin on Joe Dirte

As fans, we've been told that Jefferson was a guy that was going to keep us relevant/competitive while the youth came along their paths of development. We were told that winning -- now and always -- was the best environment in which to develop talent. While I agree with the latter, it's clear that we don't have the ingredients or the cooks to put together a winning formula. This is the reality. That said, I'd argue that it is worse to (a) generate a sentiment of frustration with losing whilst not catering to the youths' development than (b) letting guys develop habits on a losing team. Simple, right? In other words, we are going to lose, so play the youth now; that is where we are; there is no way around it. As it is now, the offense isn't catering to the strengths of the youth, and they are getting marginalized by a system and players that aren't delivering. This is far from what we were told was the Modus Operandi. Tarde Jeffersuck!!!1!1!

So many struggling teams are giving their rookies valuable playing time, including the Kings last night with Isiah Thomas. Yet Favors, Kanter and Burks rarely break the 20 minute mark.

I disagree with the premise. Playing the youth now does not mean we are going to lose. It is our vets that are digging us holes too deep to climb out of. It is our vets that are losing games in the last 5 minutes.

And it makes perfect sense as to why we are losing: We are pulling our best defenders of the paint out of the game and putting in our "best" low post scorers in the hopes of out-scoring our opponent. On the road? Seriously?

Let Favors, Kanter, and Burks close out the game and let's see what happens.

As long as you realize it's not my premise, then we have no miscommunication.

I, too, have been saying there is a likelihood that we'd win with the youth. These fourth-quarter meltdowns are ****ing predictable as hell.

To be fair the Kings have no PG whatsoever.

Kanter and Favors play the position as our two best players. Even though they are extremely flawed players, they are still our two best. That is a pretty unique position the Jazz are in, that no other team (off the top of my head) is in.
