All-Time NBA Draft Round 2: Hekate vs. White Chocolate

Which team would win in a 7-game series?

  • Total voters
    32
  • Poll closed .
Hekate says he don't play the game to win only for enjoyment than goes on for three pages bitching an moaning about loosing.
JustTheTip you ain't even in this stop bein a drama queen.
White Chocolate you discounted my vote? **** you! I am a human being to you know.

***** please! I was the one saying your vote should count.

Hekate do you accept my spot in the conference championship game? Not kidding.

I think you are more than worthy and it is as close as it gets.

I should have already lost to Ellis in the first place.

But Cy's team sucked so much that I had won.

God darn what a year in All time Draft this has been so far. Amazing level of competition.

Except for Cy. That one was boring af.

Your team is better than all three of these teams imo.

OK, I decided to review the entire thread. Here's a recap as things looked to me, hopefully I didn't miss anything:

post 52 - it ends in a tie. White Chocolate asks One Love or colton to break the tie

post 55 - One Love declines, says he thinks colton should be the tie-breaker

post 62 - One Love, after continued requests to be the tie-breaker, continues to decline. He again suggests that colton should be the tie-breaker, and adds in Bulletproof or Nate505 as possible tie-breakers.

post 66 and 67 - addictionary and spycam1 suggest a trio of tie-breakers, namely One Love, colton, and Jason.

post 68 - Hekate says he's fine with that idea.

post 70 - MT Steve says he would vote for White Chocolate. This is now 1-0 for WC in "extra innings".

post 74 - Boris votes for WC

post 80 - colton votes for Hekate

---

Let's pause here. I think both WC and Hekate have equally good cases for winning. WC claims victory in post 81 because the "extra innings" votes at this point are 2-1 for him. But Hekate could have claimed victory because the only one who was a designated tie-breaker and agreed on by both him and WC, namely me, voted for him. That's the logic presented by addictionary in post 82, although he might not have been serious (see post 86).

---

post 88 - Hekate appears to concede victory to WC, but says he would have preferred for the designated tie-breakers to have been the ones to break the tie.

post 90 - Boris's vote is discounted by WC in response to posts by Hekate and Siro, making the extra innings tally 1-1.

post 95 - Jason votes for Hekate, giving him a 2-1 lead. Hekate could be rights claim victory at this point

post 96 - Very shortly after post 95, One Love decides to vote, and votes for WC.

---

Let's pause here again. WC decides that it's tied again, since the extra-innings votes are now 2-2 (given that Boris's vote was thrown out). However, in my opinion Hekate has won at this point since (a) Jason got his vote in before One Love, and (b) The three originally-proposed tie-breakers from posts 66-68 (namely me, Jason, and One Love) voted 2-1 in favor of Hekate.

---

post 100 - WC declares it's a tie again, since extra innings votes are 2-2.

post 111 - addictionary says he votes for Hekate. ***was this a joke post? Had he already voted? I don't understand why this didn't again give Hekate the edge, with a 3-2 tie breaker. Can someone explain this??? I will assume it's a joke vote because no one responded to it.

post 124 - dipship31 votes for Hekate. This again gives Hekate the edge, with 3-2. **Hekate could have again claimed victory right here.

post 125 - Magic Spray votes for WC, tying it up again at 3-3.

post 128 - Sugarless votes for WC, giving him the edge at 4-3.

post 133 - WC declares victory at a 4-3 lead

post 163 - jope votes for Hekate, putting it at 4-4 again.

post 174 - WC maintains his victory and starts getting pissy

post 191 - NAOS votes for Hekate, putting it at 5-4 for Hekate

So, WC--after reviewing this all, I totally agree with the claims that your victory was pretty arbitrary based on when you decided the cut-off was. Nearly any other cut-off would have resulted in a Hekate win.

Personally, I think the right thing to do is to have a re-vote in a new thread. Have all parties agree on a specific cut-off time, and see who is ahead at that time. And have WC and Hekate decide IN ADVANCE what to do if it's tied at that point in time.

And the thing I feel most strongly about is that victory should not be proclaimed via a unilateral decision by White Chocolate. I think earlier in the thread you (WC) said that you wanted to find a solution that Hekate agreed on also. I forget the exact quote, but it was something like that. I'm not sure why you've gone away from that, but I think that is still a great goal. We don't want hard feelings over something like this.

Colton you're ****ing hilarious dude.

So, being the proper and fair human being you are, shouldn't Boris vote count? If that's the case then there was a point where I was up 5-3 in votes.

Personally I think Boris's vote should have counted. But that would still make you tied right now. (Unless post 111 should have been counted, in which case Hekate is still the current winner.) And you were the one who agreed to throw it out, not me.

What do you have against my suggestion of a completely new vote with a beforehand agreed-on contingency for a tie?

I have three questions to ask.

If Boris would have voted on the actual poll it would have counted, correct?

With that being said, was there not a time where I was up 5-3 in votes?

Is being up by 2 votes in a tie-breaker not enough to call the matchup?

Please, enlighten me.
