What's new

Andrew Wiggins scored 6 points tonight

He definitely has the potential to be an all-time great, but he needs to work hard on all aspects of his game.

The dude is long like Durant and as quick as Rose or Westbrook. That's unbelievable potential.

Wiggins is more skilled than people give him credit for. He has a wicked spin move, step back jumper, can post up some, etc.

Kansas is playing some serious team ball and I find it encouraging that Wiggins likes that and isn't just chucking up shots. A few games back (forget who it was against) you could have criticized Wiggins for only taking 8 shots, but then you look at the box score and see that he actually led Kansas in field goal attempts. He plays within the system, but has shown a few times (like against Duke) that he's willing, and capable, of turning it on when his team needs him to.

I'm not saying Wiggins is a sure thing, but people writing off a guy that only played three years of high school this fast is a bit premature. He was hyped up for a reason, now let's see what he does over the next several months before coming to any conclusions.

I'd be curious as to how George would be doing on a team that started John Lucas, and Richard Jefferson for most of the 2013-2014 season thus far.
He'd average 28/8/7 having to carry the load for ****ty teammates…something Hayward is not able to do.

George is awesome, but there's no way in hell he ever averages LeBron numbers for a whole season, no matter the circumstances.

If I'm drafting #1 right now, I would go Parker. He's already got a game made for the pro game. I think he can be a better version of Carmelo Anthony personally.

he's carmelo, but without a stupid smile on his face after missing a contested fadeaway jumpshot in final seconds

I was wrong, this gai ain't gonna be nowhere close to Kobe if he don't take the slightest responsibility of stardom.

I mean, he's taking college games off?

I haven't read this thread, but I will tell you... in the next 10 games Wiggins will turn it on and show what he can do and people will be in awe.

Not kidding. Wouldn't surprise me for him to have a 50pt game. The knock on him is less a skill issue than a desire to rip out the opponents throats... we'll see him get pissed soon.

That would be fun to witness.

Apples and oranges. MJ was playing in an era when the best guys were staying in school for 4 years creating much tougher competition for a freshman. Wiggins is playing in an era where the best guys are staying 1 or 2 years. You have to compare Wiggins to his contemporaries. Even there, he is solid, but lagging behind Parker and Randle at this point.

ฺBut you can definitely lose your job for NOT taking him.

Flawed statement.

If Jabari, Randle, Smart, or Exum were taken ahead of him and they turned out to be all stars and Wiggins turned out to be a superstar (A Tier higher), you still keep your job. Its the equivalent of the Cavs taking Wade or Anthony over LeBron. Wrong choice but they still land a great player. You don't lose your job for drafting a multi year All-Star, even if you pass on Michael Jordan or King James. Draft is a crapshoot. Nothing is certain,

I'm still for Jazz picking Wiggins if available.
He's a legit 6' 8" elite athlete that can completely shut down other teams best player.
Not too many of those around.

I always knew he was a bust and he will never be a good player until the end of time and crows, vultures and hyenas will eat his ****ing corpse until he's erased from the face of the earth.

These are my thoughts until the next game he puts up a 40 point game against a ****ty team with ****ty defenders coz stats are everything regardless of talent and regardless of opponents.

Also, Jabari is better than Jordan.

Because he is younger.

Wiggins as bust written all over him. If im Jazz im taking Parker or Randle and its probally parker because he wont abandon Utah since he is a mormon

Great post. Mj draft the rockets to Hakeem(good pick even though it wasn't mj) and blazers take Bowie. Guess which gm would lose his job??
