What's new

Anyone for Cousins?

I could copy and paste it just to clown u again but I'm getting a bit bored of that.

You need to respect Prince in this time!

I've intentionally stayed out of this thread being genuinely curious what people here would say about the topic.

Tbh, it has given me renewed faith in this message board for having some decent level of objectivity.
I truly expected to only see complete bashing of boogie. Glad to see some balance.

I have said REPEATEDLY... Cousins really needs a coach, PG, and fans that show him love. Immature of him? Probably.

But watching him play his FRESHMAN season at UK was an easy glimpse into what could be. Playing with John Wall (with whom there was tremendous mutual respect) and for Calipari (with whom there was tremendous mutual respect) along with a fanbase that ADORED him... he was happy. Still calls Lexington home. Not for the nightlife, not for the social scene, but because he's always been rejected his whole life.. until Lexington.

Sound immature? Kinda, yeah.. but if I were an NBA franchise and understood the recipe, I'd start baking.

Gripes about his coach, or organization i can understand given what you've said, but the constant whining and griping on court at teammates is a MASSIVE red flag. You know there's something wrong when other players frequently complain about playing with him. Different circumstances can certainly result in a change in a players outlook but i just don't see much strength of character at all in him.

It is all part of the same thing; he's unhappy with his situation, and he deals with it in that immature way. I'm not 100% sold on that, but I would trade any Jazz player for him, and roll the dice. Great risk, great reward. Better than the middling team we currently have.

Very large chance it would end up being a trainwreck. No thanks, and i do not want to cheer for a 25 year old child.

That's cool and I don't blame you.
He's my friend so I'm biased. I get that.
It's one thing to hang out for BBQ's vs. having to coach him in-game and manage his locker room presence.

Having said that, I got to see UP CLOSE how well Calipari and John Wall thrived with him and to this day, Kentucky fans consider him an all time favorite.....

... having said that, all us that love him also wish he'd stop his bitch-whining ALL DAMN GAME.

But, he's a GREAT guy (really) with a huge heart and a tremendous talent... He's simply kid-like on the court and it's frustrating.

I would take him at almost any price.

Not suggesting it makes any sense, but I only see one of three landing spots;

1) stay in SAC (I don't think so)
2) Lakers (can't say why - not that I agree it's smart)
3) a small mkt

my comments were about Stifle Tower specifically... and the fact that he had publicly broadcast his troubles, so we all knew. Those were the conditions for my comment you runny ********.

The clippers in theory would be good because of veteran leadership and doc would build him up but he effing hates Chris Paul.

Not sure what situation would be best but I would absolutely want a relevant veteran leader to work with him. He's not a great teammate and he bitches to refs but he's beyond talented and really does want to win. Also is a great guy in the community... Like great guy.

Don't think we have what it'd take to make it work with him... Maybe we trade for him then a guy like Conley might see us as a potential contender and come here?

By PKM's account he is a great dude, who just needs a coach to relate to him. Seems like he loved mike malone. I'm sure he could get along with quin. Jazz would need to bring in some smart vets to fill out the roster though.

He could be pretty awesome next to favors.

I'd have more hope for Utah's future if we had Cousins than I do right now.

Unlike the train wreck of the season we just had? Did you not see Houston play? Portland has two basketball players, yet ended up fifth.

At least if we had Cousins our train wreck would be interesting. This team is bad AND boring. That's a terrible combination.

If the jazz did trade for boogie, i agree with the Dr. That favors is a better trade option, then the jazz would need to re-sign booker. He would be a great mentor for boogie.

Ridiculous post. You are talking far less sense than you used to.

Kinda weird to see anything but trash talk about him on here. I've always been of the opinion that if you put him in a decent situation, he'd become a winner. Unfortunately, I think it's almost impossible for anyone to trade for him without gutting their team, which means he may have to wait for UFA before he can silence his critics. Much as I hate the idea, I could see a trade to the Lakers and then they sign a significant FA or two. That would suck.

U do realize he plays for the Death Valley team of the NBA team, right? He has had to endure his entire career in that waste land of a team. I fear what he could/would do in even a decent situation. Cousins definitely doesn't get a fair shake from fans. If u played your career in in Sac. as lon as he has you'd be jaded too. I recall his first few years, he was there only decent player and he could never get the ball. It was every man for himself. Sac is a place where players and coaches go to die, and it's an accomplishment that Cousins is as good as he is. He's the top center in the game and would help just about any team contend.

Until he pisses off his teammates by being an ***, screws with his coaches by being a moody POS. And stopped trying because he feels like he doesn't want to try. I don't want him on the team. I stand by my previous statement that I would quit following the team if he was on it. No player I've ever seen makes basketball less enjoyable to watch. I watched one kings/Jazz game this year, I intentionally avoided the others because I can't stand watching that guy **** the game up like he does. I'd rather trade to get Kanter back than get Cousins. I wouldn't trade Trey Burke for Cousins, unless they had a deal to send Cousins elsewhere already set to go.

Why would that suck? It eliminates the Lakers from competing until he leaves. I'm all for it.
