What's new

Anyone for Cousins?

No, it's the whinning, lazy *** play. Shaking his head the ENTIRE time he's on the court. It's his mannerisms on the court that drive me nuts. Watching a guy with his talent be a lazy *** is annoying. His on court persona is that of a little whinny *** bitch that freaks out when he doesn't get every call. The guy has talent, I still don't think he'll ever win anything as the star of a team. Put him on a team with Lebron or somebody with a dominant personality like that and he has a very slim chance. If they don't kill each other before they get the chance. He's a lot like Dwight Howard is now, plays for himself and his own and to hell with the team. Can't win with a guy like that.

I have never hated watching any player play more than Cousins. Every time I see him play I am actively routing for somebody to punch him in the face. I will stop watching the Jazz if he's on the team. But since this team won't ever trade for a player like that I'm pretty safe in assuming that will never happen. And I'm glad for it.

Two things.

1. Get over yourself.

2. No star is winning anything other then Jordan on that team. Cousins has rotted on that god forsaken team 5-6 years. Any of us would do the same as cousins.

So as i understand it you think poor little DeMarcus Cousins is the victim in all the instability in Sacramento over that whole time, and it's not really his responsibility for having the on court demeanour of a sour lemon every time i've ever seen him play. Over his years in the league he's been a shining light left to rot by years of neglect and it's just coincidence that he's the common ingredient of all those stinking teams ?

Is Cousins immature? Yes. Is it magnified by being on the worst run org in all of pro sports, and not just the NBA? Yes.

Here's another fact. He, according to dr Jones was a great teammate at Kentucky. I'd bitch too if I had to spend my best years on that Sac team. Hell, he doesn't even have teammates conducive to winning. He's in a black hole with no team ball and some pretty bad coaches. Hell, the only good coach they've had since he's been there was Malone, and he got canned after one year. Hell, I would give Favors and Hayward and whatever draft picks they want for him, and we'd be instantly better, along with Cousins changing his act.

I hate everything about that franchise. It's where players, and coaches go to whither and die. I've wanted Cousins out of there for a while. Either with us or somewhere in the east.

You lose your argument when you say Malone was his best coach. George Karl is a HOF caliber coach.. Can not even believe someone would say Malone was better then Karl. Shows you have zero bball iq so therefore no one can take your post serious.

Cousins would never want to live in Utah.. It is not his kind of place. a lot of dreamers out here in fantasy world.. Cousins would be so bored in Utah that he would become a problem, do not kid yourselves.

Cousins deserves some of his bad rap.. but this part is patently false.

He is a top 5 player talent wise, in the NBA. Tempting. Big time. Could you convince him to play hard here? I dunno. But you have to look into it. If someone can figure this kid out, they will have one of the best players in the league.

Reminds me of the song lyrics from the play Guys and Dolls, when the women are talking about their bad boy boyfriends, "marry the man today, change his ways tomorrow."

It doesn't work in personal relationships, and it doesn't work in sports. Cousins is who he is. I, for one, don't want this man child to put a stranglehold on this franchise like he has done in Sacramento.

I don't think the argument is whether Malone is a better coach than Karl. The argument is that Malone got along very well with Cousins and Karl did not. And, in fact, Cousins disapproved of the choice even before Karl was hired. As an owner and GM, you listen to your franchise player(s). You value their input. Ranadive and Vlade did not.

Getting rid of Karl may indicate they want to reconcile with Cousins. But since he doesn't get along with Gay, I'd say that's the player the Jazz should acquire. Gay would be a good 6th man behind Hayward. And the Jazz could try to sign him if Gordon decides to opt out and leave.

Haha. George Karl was toast at this point. Not even remotely the same coach he was in the past.

It's like the person who can't maintain a relationship but always blames the other person. At some point, it becomes apparent that the constant factor in all the failed relationships is this person.

No we wouldn't. Some would, others wouldn't. Quit excusing bad, immature behavior. The way people respond to such things naturally would vary widely according to their personalities. Cousin's personality is evident by now. His behavior is not an aberration, it is who he is. How many data points do you need beyond what we've seen after several years of consistent immature and detrimental behavior?

Look at his time in Kentucky. Was a great teammate. I didn't excuse his behavior, just that his level of maturity decreases after being in a not so good environment for so long. If u had to endure what he has had your attitude would suffer as well. All I'm saying is that in the right situation I'm a big believer in Cousins.

So he was a great teammate in the one year of college in which they won nearly every game. Since then, he's been an immature malcontent both on and off the court.

What if he moves to another franchise that struggles to win?

One thinks that the only way Cousins reverts back to being the 'great teammate' again is if he moves to a winning/contending team and pretty much gets his way all the time.

Everyone always thinks that they can be the one who reforms the bad boy. More often than not, they're wrong.

I did say on the right team and situation.

He did pretty well with his last stop in Denver. If anything it was the Kings players and franchise...Poitn remains when all is settled and done he is a HOF coach. He much better coach then Quin and yet people think Cousins would do good with Utah.comical.

Yes, you did. But part of my point is that IF the only way Cousins is not a destructive force/presence on his team is if he lands up in some ideal spot, that is not saying anything very complimentary of him. Part of maturity is making the best of less than ideal situations, while not being such a damned sourpuss and malcontent that you bring everyone else down with you as well
