After this OKC game - I don't know anymore whether we're really really bad, or are we just "pretending" to be bad for the sake of tanking.


What do you guys think? Are we really that bad?
 
We are bad. But no worse than the team we just played was in there first year of rebuilding. With Westbrook and Durrant on the team they started the season 3-29. We might get there we might not.
 
Problem is, I see no progress out of Kanter, not enough from Favors, and Burks is even less-reliable than Chucker Smiles. At least CJ was good for 1 decent game out of every 5. Alec had a phenomenal 1st game and has done nothing since. This team has completely given up.

On the bright side, Jazz should have no money problems to worry about for several more seasons: Hayward ain't getting a huge deal, Burks can be allowed to walk in a year and Kanter will be very affordable...if he even merits a new deal. New nickname for Enes should be the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. How can you be that big and not get defensive boards just by default?

This team is looking to set all time marks for fewest wins, worst offensive, worst defense. worst team FG%, worst 3PT FG% and worst FT%.

Agree with this.

Even with the way the team struggled as a whole - we should see more of their progress IMO.
 
Looking at our team and looking at the schedule I don't think there is much chance we would be better than 3-11 at this point no matter who the coach was. Take a look at the schedule and you'll see what I mean. The only 2 games we have lost that I would have given us a chance to win at the start of the season was The Suns on the road and Denver at home. And even those are games that we would have a hard time winning.

Not making excuses for anything or anyone but I didn't expect much better record wise. I did expect us to complete a lot better than we have in some of those loses though.
 
What if Jeff Hornacek was the head coach?

Have you seen the talent he has to work with in Phoenix? Jazz are easily more talented, but Phoenix is over .500 because they have a competent coach.

I have a feeling some of you are so used to Corbin's coaching, you've forgotten what it's like for it not to seem as though an autistic 5th grader is running the show.

What if he was. Have you seen the Suns schedule compared to ours? Has Horny had a real PG all season to run the show? There are other factors to the Suns record than coaching. Not a slight to Jeff he has been fantastic, But its not all coaching.
 
We suck balls. Hayward can't shoot for ****. Kanter and Favors are both playing like they only have one combined year of college experience.

We asked for this. Just ride the wave.

Well remember when GSW were tanking that year to get Barnes? They were sitting David Lee and Klay Thompson at the end of games, not rushing Curry & Bogut out to play due to injury, etc, etc, etc.

They were clearly "pretending" to be bad.

The question is: Are we "pretending" or are we bad "for real"?

Jazz's SOS: .509
Suns' SOS: .537
Same number of home games for both teams, the Jazz have played two more games in total and those two extra games were on the road.

It's the coaching.
