What's new

August 20:Big Match Turkey&Germany-Enes Kanter&Dirk Nowitzki match is starting now:) live Link here

ahhhh, makes sense .. I guess the synonym for exhibition, huh? Sorry if that came off like a xenophobe.

I can be added to the "Pro-Kanter for the Jazz" team. I am not anti JV, but I just feel Kanter will be a better fit.

So the fact he is scoring in friendlies 3x more then Kanter and with better FG and FT % playing against same or better competiton ( Gasols Ibaka, Mozgov, AK, etc,) is nothing. OK.

I guess you think he scored 36 against spain, or are you dreaming? He made something like 13 as i remember. And plus, i wouldnt show them as a proof which one is a better player just because he scored a few more points in a friendly game. I insist Kanter is a better player offensively and overall, thats what i have seen from their games so far. If you wanna prove i am wrong, you should wait a few years and we will see who is better in their nba career. I believe JV is also a good player, he will probably be a decent starter in nba or maybe better but i go for Kanter. Such friendly game stats seem too funny to be a proof to me

Thats why I asked you - have you seen him play? Recent friendlies, U19 world championship, etc?

i have seen in euroleague games, but not much though, thats why i dont wanna pretend i know him better than everyone here. Just what i generally saw from him, highlights or live games, i dont think he is that good as you exaggarate. He is a good player but Kanter is better imo.

here is a great performance by JV for many. But it doesnt convince me he will be a very good nba player. It is clear he is a skilled big man and he has a good wingspan, but come on, scoring 36 against some little kids doesnt make him a better player than Enes. I dont see any toughness from him, he is not gonna find the opportunity to rebound in nba as he did in this game, there is gonna be much more struggle, who can prove he will be fine guarding strong players in the post, like Garnett, Griffin, even Big Al? What we have seen from Kanter since game 1 is his toughness and motor so his game will translate to nba in a good way. But i didnt see the same thing from JV yet. He seems more like a poor mans Gasol to me , which is still not bad. But i dont think he is better than Enes at all as many people dreaming

its too early to compare enes with jonas.its not even fair to compare them by their performance in NT,cause they have deferent roles in their teams.LTU is very much depanded on jonas,he gets the ball all the time, enes doent get sh..t.jonas's role in LTU team is more like omer asik's role in turkish NT.

jonas scored 10 points at game1 against spain,7 points against russia, when things get serious, numbers go down as you see,and he avaraged 18 min a game.jonas had 7.7 pts,and 5.3 rebounds in euroleague last year.

P.S excuse my english

i think some guys here think JV will come to nba and dominate right away. It is impossible with his current body. I even hesitate to say Enes will have an impact in his first year, it is difficult to say. But at least we have seen some promise from him, watched couple of live games in the last 2 weeks. It is pretty obvious he is a very good rebounder, a tough hustle player with offensive skills. He just needs playing time and experience.

On the other hand, JV needs much more to succeed in nba. He needs to bulk up first, and then get some experience. He is playing in euroleague for the last 2 yrs and he is a more ready player than Enes, but the question is he ready for nba, not for euro basket?
I think he will be a good player but he will struggle a lot more than Enes in order to reach his potential in nba.

I think Kanter's more ready, right now, to be in the NBA. I also believe it's a stretch to think he'll get many minutes in year 1. Overall, I think EK is going to be the better player, but I think the two are different enough that they'll be compared more to others rather than each other.

--- And, yes, I know the reason we're comparing them now.

Sorry but you are wrong. Jonas scored 14pts/7reb vs Russia in first game and 13pts/16reb in second. He had 11pts in second game vs Spain.

People always want what they dont have. If we picked JV instead of Enes, i believe much more people would say, ohhhh Enes was so much better, why didnt we draft him, damn KOC , things like that. But i think we made the best choice. Enes is the best player of this draft. Only player i see in his level is Irving
