Baton Rouge Police Killing a 37-year-old black man at point blank range

The Snopes analysis seems to ignore the fact that the cop said he was pulling them over as a result of the armed robbery suspicion. That being the case it is pretty obvious that he approached the vehicle suspecting a weapon might be involved. The girlfriend claims on her video that the concealed carry had been discussed, but there is no proof that actually happened. Regardless, the cop is not going to be okay with the suspect reaching toward what appears to be a weapon. It looks very likely that the suspect did, in fact commit the robbery (evidence: he looks like the man in the convenience store picture, his license plate matched). For that reason even if he did have a permit to carry the weapon it's pretty much irrelevant because he never had the right to use it for criminal activity.

Anyone who reads the conservative treehouse for their news and takes it at face value is an idiot.

"Don't believe mainstream media, believe this obviously bias website named conservative treehouse"
I'm basing my opinion on the evidence that I can see, not on the source of that evidence. But I am curious why the mainstream media had not been reporting that the car was pulled over because of the armed robbery suspicion. That seems like a pretty important fact, and everything else looks different in light of that information.

Where are you getting information that his license plate matched one from the robbery? The only thing about a license plate match I can find is about whether an audio of the police saying they were going to pull the car over matched the car. That was in an effort to prove the audio was valid. Nothing to do with a license plate from the robbery.

You're welcome for the help. I know who he is too.

I know whose alt you are to because I am not stupid an plus I am a world class hacker. I know where you live where you work an all your other 33 accounts.

An yes I knew you were trolling playing opposite side like Cy but I was the captain driving that ship Mr Gumshoe. Pat yerself on the back harder. I will play caricature of Joe Bagadonuts an Dr. Jones next.

So i tried to upload an picture from the washington post showing the statistics for police shooting so far this year but i am unable to load it.
Anywho... There were 509 police shootings that resulted in civilian deaths from the start of this year up until july.
484 were male. 25 female. 238 were white. 123 were black. 79 hispanic. 46 unknown. 23 other race. 282 of the victims had a gun on them. 88 had knife. 35 were in a vehicle as their "weapon". 22 had a toy weapon. 35 were unarmed. 27 unknown. 20 other. 385 showed no signs or had history of mental illness. 124 of them did.

So the most common person shot by a policeman is a white male with no mental problems carrying a gun.

I found that to be interesting.

fishonjazz Thank you for these figures that Duck Rogers posted days ago.

The picture of the shooter and the picture of Castile are nearly impossible to tell if it's him. The one thing I notice is the robber doesnt have a beard. He has disconnected goatee. Castile had a chinstrap into a connected mustache when he died.

From a website named "Conservative Treehouse" obviously no bias or information manipulation going on.

Anyone who ignores information simply because they don't like the name of the organization who brought it to light is an idiot.

I read the conservative treehouse report. There are so many half truths in it or things designed to manipulate the reader I can't trust any information they put for because it's clear they aren't concerned with proper reporting and just feeding their readership base.

Can someone else comment on this? I think it's pretty obvious. Every single picture I have seen of Castile he has the same facial hair, a chinstrap into a mustache up to his time of death. The robber had a disconnected goatee. I'm not blind am I? Seems to be a low % chance Castille was this robber.

It should be execution for armed robbery though. If you stick a gun in someones face and rob them, then you deserve to die imo. You just threatened the life of someone, now someone can take yours.

If the clerk who was getting robbed pulled their own gun and shot the robber dead on the spot, nobody would blink an eye. But if its later we should feel bad for them? Ummm, no.

The point is, that if indeed it is him robbing the store, I am going to give the benefit of the doubt to the cop in this situation because the credibility of the thug is now gone, and nobody should feel sorry for him. The community especially shouldnt be marching up and down the streets screaming injustice, and putting cops life in danger.

Who really is the side rushing to judgement? The cop, or the community screaming injustice before they know what happened? The cop maybe, the community most certainly.
So **** **** the Constitution then?

I tried to match the facial hair up as well. Its hard to see for sure. But it still looks a lot like him. You cant say it doesnt. I want to see what other evidence might come out and any other angles that show the robber.

He is black male with dreads and similar build, yes. He is also wearing sunglasses and a tilted down hat. Hard to make out any discernible facial features other than facial hair. From the facial hair it appears to me that it is not a match.

This whole thing is a moot point though. If he robbed the place or didnt, doesnt matter. The only thing that really matters is how he went for his wallet. Until there is video/audio evidence of what went down, it's all he said/she said.

I don't want the police summarily executing people in the streets. I want due process of law.

In Hack's world any crime deserves death if the perpetrated chooses so. Not kidding either, pretty sure he has advocated for that.

I have a tough time with white people telling minorities how they should process their experiences, how they should feel, what they should think. I've done it myself in the past, and I'm ashamed when I've heard experiences that friends have had just because of skin color. It's taken time to learn that the world is completely different for other people than it is for me.

JazzGal extremely underrated post.

I talked this subject with my brother yesterday. Guy has a mind like dalamon Siro NAOS colton Dr. Jones One Brow. A true genius. When we watch jeopardy he has all the answers.

He tells me, you know Boris, when I worked with that charity group in Kenya an several other impoverish African nations you know what we did? We shut the hell up an asked them what THEY thought would help.

They understand there problems, they are most likely to understand the solutions to them. We need to shut up an LISTEN.

Lol

Really? Any crime? I said that?

And actually I have a different opinion for different people. For instance, if you or gameface were robbed at gunpoint I wouldnt care. I would laugh. I kid, I kid, but seriously, if you do get robbed. Dont cry about it. Just say to yourself, you had that coming, or no biggie that guy seemed like a good guy, hope he has fun with my money.
