Ben Dowsett is an embarrassment. He doesn't represent Jazz fans

Ben Dowsett is one great wriiter and speaker for JAZZ!! How dare you pile on for him!!!! Draymond shame for him try and take his job that is for opnly maybe 35K. SHAME NBA MILLIONAIRES!@

Interesting exchange. I definitely think that Dowsett is in the wrong for tweeting player interactions that are outside of the context of interviews. The lockerroom needs to be a safe place for players to wind down and talk s#!t if they want to.

I disagree that he should get his credentials removed. He is simply brushing up against a professional boundary that he must negotiate as a member of the press.

I think that the Warrior's tweets are far more embarrassing than Dowsett's. For them to even respond to a blogger of Dowsett's reach is beneath players that are supposed to be above such frays because of their stature in the sport. I think their responses betray their embarrassment about what Ben was reporting on, which does communicate a significant level of disrespect for the Jazz. If they wanted to refute him, they would have fared much better by simply ignoring him.

I don't think them calling someone out for potential misrepresenting them is in the wrong. I just thought it was weird Dray called him a coward. IDK if Draymond tried to contact him or something, and Dowsett just ignored.

Yeah I don't think calling him a coward was a wise move. Not sure what GSW would do but that tweet would have been 'managed' by the Jazz PR if it was a Jazz player.

Wait, who the Hell is Ben Dowsett?

This. this is the only thing he has done that is noteworthy. Him and Larsen are fine, but I just think they are uninteresting.

This sounds like he misread the situation. This is totally human to do and so it should be excused, but in journalism I think you really want to make sure you are accurate first and foremost.

That and may be something to back up your claim, i.e., a video of them laughing.

isnt he just an unpaid blogger anyway? Its not like Tom Brokaw or Peter Jennings got into a tizzy over the Warriors' reactions. Bloggers are usually merely fans with a laminate. I'm not really surprised by his reaction, but i am surprised that he elicited any sort of response from Draymond.

Yeah, but I think he definitely aspires to have a paid gig. Blogging is where a lot of these guys get their start now. I mean this is really "punching down" if you will.

Draymond's whole point is that the NBA shouldn't grant lockerroom access to fans with a lot of twitter followers.

He basically took back basically all of everything involving Curry while saying "I may have been wrong about my overall point but that doesn't change my overall point" then went on a multi-tweet bitch-made diatribe about being a victim for putting in 60 hours a week without getting paid. Even if the Warriors that tweet slammed him looked a peculiarly defensive considering they were out for blood from someone who they obviously don't respect (heaven forbid you don't get respect from goons, regardless how much they make). I think he came off a teebit kneejerk and sensitive here

My wife pulls down more than $1000 a month mommy blogging a couple of times per week, but she is fully awesome. Is there anyone that would actually pay money for what this dude is doing? Hell, even the best of the best at Grantland got shut down. Whey would this Dowsett dude think he has a future? Go where the money is and advertisers are. . .

Whatever else might be said about Larsen or Dowsett atleast they have the courage to put their faces and names out there with the stuff they write. No one here does that, we all have our opinions but hide behind screen names and made up personas.

Maybe that just puts us ahead of the curve in terms of looking like idiots on the Internet. We make the same amount he does.

To be fair to Dowsett, he does put a lot of work and research into his articles. He should probably lay off the twitter reporting where his fandom shows though if he ever wants to be taken seriously as a writer.
