That said, if you're actually offended by that video then the problem is bigger than the lame attempt at a joke.

I bet if the video was about satirical about Columbus and the white men ruin everything, you'd be all over it. Tell me I'm wrong.

I'm fascinated by Native Americans and their culture. In the last month alone I've watched 4 different documentaries on different Native tribes and empires. What gets me is sheeple are so prone to bash Columbus and all the bad things the Spaniards and the white men did to the Natives and are either ignorant or apathetic to the bizarre and barbaric practices many of the Natives did. To me, they both accomplished great things, were cultures to be celebrated and remembered, but both did some pretty nasty ****. It's history. Deal with it.

Obviously not satirical. Where's the satire?
I don't think you're amused by it or find it funny, but it doesn't mean it's not satire.
It's certainly not my favorite thing Ben's interns have posted, but I don't think it makes him a racist either.
Satire:
the use of humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people's stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics and other topical issues.
synonyms: mockery, ridicule, derision, scorn, caricature

Okay. So how is it satire? What is it mocking?

I didn't make it. You're asking the wrong guy. Besides, you already know the answer to your question. :)

I do. It's not a satire. It's advancing the idea that was extremely common until the 60s, and is still common in some right wing circles, about colonization being a force of enlightenment to backward savages.

Yeah Archie you're not doing yourself any favors here. The video is full of obviously racist tropes.

We don't have holidays in this country celebrating Maya or Aztec leaders so I'm not sure what your point is there. You're correct that it's all history, the problem is that the history of Christopher Columbus hasn't been taught in America. What I learned in school is basically a folk tale. He wasn't some great hero worth celebrating. He was a fool who raped and pillaged his way through the Caribbean, and didn't really "discover" ****.

I don't believe in the idea that colonization is entirely, universally and vehemently bad. Being enlightened is entirely subjective. I'd imagine many have different opinions on it, and that's ok.
I wouldn't post that video to my social media accounts. Yes, I see how it's satire and I also see how it can come across as racist. I'm not trying to do myself any favors, Zombie.
You're quick to point out all the atrocities and bad history about Columbus, but why can one only look at that side of the coin? I was never taught in school many of the practices the Natives did that many consider barbaric and savage. It's history. Interesting ****.
Lastly, thank you Siro for actually having a conversation, dude. I appreciate it. :)

Great. So we agree it's not a joke nor satire. It is presenting a serious argument. And it is one many find bigoted.

If you don't, that's fine. But let's be honest about it.

The literal definition of satire disagrees with you.
Just because something is offensive and can be taken serious, does not mean it's not satire.
I mean, this right here is why guys like Milo Yianopolis are blowing up right now in popularity.
