Best Big Al trade

IMO, his value is so low right now that it makes no sense to trade him, unless of course we're shocked with an amazing offer by some drunk GM. That said, the way to go is to keep him, start the Millsap-Jefferson-Favors lineup for the first month or two as one, it's highly productive, and two, it allows both Favors and Jefferson to get the time we need them to get. The former so he can develop. The latter so we can get some 20/10 type numbers from him and drive his value back up a couple notches. If it works as well as it did this year, and we are headed toward a 4-5 seed, then his value could be pretty freakin' high. And at that point, we may get a real solid offer which we could accept or we can play with house money and shoot for a higher playoff seed. A double-edged sword of sorts but a much better "predicament" to be in than we are currently.

If we were steadily that high of a seed (which we will never be with him) than we will definitely not trade him

And this is mostly a tangent, and I've already mentioned it before, but while Al undoubtedly has some good things to teach, I'm scared that Kanter and Favors having too much exposure to him will begin to net them bad teachings ("Guys, always remember, shy AWAY from contact at every opportunity; you have legs for a reason, don't put them in jeopardy just to ever make an impact in transition; passing is only important if you make the decision within yourself that your teammates are half as good as you [think] you are; never make quick decisions, always catch the ball and give your teammates time to clear one side of the floor, the defense to set itself for a double or triple team, and since you are already way better than anyone else because YOU have the ball, you don't have to be concerned that part of what the defense does will be to close off passing options cuz you a BIG man. I almost forgot; don't worry if you're pushed way off your spot and catch the ball at >15 feet, just try to do these cool dance moves and then flip a shot from 12 feet. It's a really good play.")

I'm slightly worried about that with Kanter, because all of his deficiencies are kind of the same as Jefferson's. Favors is such an athlete though, I don't really worry about him shying away from contact and above the rim play. Plus I think Favors biggest weakness is his footwork, which Al probably helps a lot in.

Not agreeing with this. If you're talking, specifically, lack of explosiveness/athleticism .. then sure. But my problem with Al has nothing to do with that, it has everything to do with a seeming unwillingness to do the little things, to box out, go hard, make the pass .. etc.

Anytrade is the best big al trade. We have to get him out of here. Guys like him are a disease, his unwillingness to do the small things that wins games will rub off easily on kanters and favors young mind. I'm so sick of hearing big al talk about defense and that it starts with him. This chump is so full of **** and will continualy say these things in his career because its what people want to hear.

I agree with both to some degree. His offensive game is - at the moment - similar and not as good. Kanter is at a point where he can grow the right way and to a significant degree... or he can just work out with Al and learn all of the bull **** that Al believes (or not learn the things that Al simply cannot wrap his half-tard brain around).

Basketball poison.

Yes. This.

I was in no way saying Enes is ahead of Al at anything, EXCEPT for work ethic, desire, humility, and willingness to do anything coaches tell him.

Also, to be fair to Big Al, I don't think all these things are 100% his fault. I think a lot of it has been a product of being on terrible teams with sub-par coaching. I think he is slowly learning out of some of his bad habits and I don't think Kanter will pick them up. I mean, Millsap was under Boozer for what, 4 or 5 years and he never really got anything negative from Boozer.

I don't buy that coaches at the highest level of competition on earth never stressed that he had to run the floor and pass the ball. I'd believe 9/11 was an inside job before I believed that Doc Rivers and Kevin McHale were worse coaches than my dad was in Jr. Jazz.

By the way, this is not possible.

Well milsap was a 3 year college player, he knew what he had to do in games and survive in this league. Kanter has seriously such little professional experience I can just see him being so gullible and innocent he would do anything big al tells him.

So you think Big Al tells him not to run the floor, pass, or play defense? Al is very aware of his deficiencies and openly talks about them in interviews (unlike Boozer who always thought he was playing good defense).

I think its more pathetic and offensive to us fans that he talks about it that openly and still plays the worst help defense I've ever seen watching basketball. I don't think he would say that to Kanter but i can see him saying things that would be equal to cutting corners for personal gain.

This. I could be your pickled grandpa.

I think your both a bit paranoid.

The only thing that I absolutely know that I can tell you is that people are less likely to follow someone that doesn't walk the walk.
