What's new

Best stuff on Netflix

Nope, Kevin James isn't very funny imo either. He's okay (and probably better at stand-up I'd guess) but we've reached the Look at me! I'm going to show a lot of energy which shows I'm trying real hard to be funny Dane Cook style of comedy era and quite frankly, it's pathetic. If you have to try to be funny, you almost never are.

Ya, I was being sarcastic about kevin james. He sucks

My favorite is jim gaffigan. He is hilarious, and he doesn't even cuss.
Hannibal buress is probably my second favorite. (he is also one of the stars of the tv show Broad City, starting up with the new season next week)
Bill burr is really funny
Louis C.K. is probably the top dog in stand up currently. He is not my favorite but he is very very good too.

Haha. MsSerp and I saw Gaffigan in Atlantic City. I wouldn't say he was great but he was very good. Hot pockets!

I've seen Dom Irrera three times. Holy cow, he's ****ing hilarious! Saw Don Rickles down in AC too and he ws obviously equally as hilarious. Funniest guy I've ever seen probably in any form.

OK I know I said I wasn't a big fan of The Killing.. 85% of the first season was just like a slow trot through the pouring rain.... but boy did it pick up the pace in the last couple of episodes in season 1.

Beginning of season 2 so far and even though the acting is still pretty average, the complexity of the story is picking up adding some much needed richness/suspense to the otherwise a pretty bland soup.... let's see if they can keep this up.

The acting is far above average.

The red head chick is god awful. Terrible actress.

JK as Holder is phenomenal. Many of the supporting people (the dad, the guy running for mayor, the heavy set other detective, etc.) are very strong as well. The female detective you talk about is solid. I find her to be a one trick pony and annoying after a while but it earned her Emmy/GG nods and helped launch her film career.

Love Holder. HATE Mireille Enos with a passion. Not as a person, not her character just her as an actress. When she is in the mental hospital and is freaking out was so so bad. Could be just me but I think she is severely lacking any time she has to show any emotion. Its so forced and contrived. When she just has to talk monotone I guess she is ok. The cast is really quite good imo, just sucks that the worst actor is also the main character.

I pretty much agree with this post.

Is Broadchurch on Netflix? i haven't seen it. And yes, TD was better imo. ****ing epic.

Definitely is. You should check it out. Much better/deeper character development than the Killing. Better acting too, IMO. Tension/suspense is taut all the way through, unlike the Killing where I'll have time to check my emails & browse Jazzfanz while watching.

Check it out and let us know what you think.

OK I'll give it average or may be slightly above, but still way below the likes of Broadchurch/True Detective.

It's not really fair to compare it to TD though…that was Harrellson and McConaghey, both of whom are very good actors. You usually don't get those types on tv shows.

I mean, that's like saying that, "hey, Karl Malone was pretty good I guess, but he's no Kareem." Naw, both were excellent, and should be seen as such. Ya feel me?

Hmm... k, if you're gonna use basketball analogy I would say:

The Killing = Derrick Favors (new, young, promising)

True Detective = Malone (experienced, a legend)

Broadchurch = may be Nowitzki? (solid/experienced foreigner, since the show is British/European).
