What's new

Best stuff on Netflix

Watched the first ep of Peaky. Interested enough I'll watch some more. I'm a Cillian Murphy fan and he's great in the show, but I'm not sure I buy the Jurassic Park guy as the cop.

Happy Valley - A British crime drama miniseries. Only 6 episodes so its gets going fast and keeps it up for the entire 6 episodes. Has a Coen Brothers feel as its about a goodish guy who gets in over his head and screws everything up for a lot of people. Very dark, but very intense and very good.

Wow.. didn't think anything was gonna be able to top True Detective in that whodunit category ... but I'll tell ya, Broadchurch comes pretty close to it. Gripping as can be and the acting is superb. What's more the 2nd series which has just started seems to be taking it to another level.

Have just started "The Killing" and it is definitely 2-3 notches below those 2 heavyweights.

Yeah The Killing blows.

I completely disagree. I think it had a few problems and they both have to do with their writing. One, the red herrings in season one. And two, the way it tied everything together and disclosed who the killer was and why. I didn't have any problem with it the first go around tbh. But season three's ending was epically dumb on so many levels and season four was just as bad.

You say you disagree, but everything after that sounds like you agree?

The Killing presents itself as this sophisticated show. It's not. It's a 12 hour long episode of Cold Case or CSI--it has the brain power of a bad CSI episode, except without the easily consumable camp and it isn't resolved in forty minutes... but it goes on and on into eternity. Don't watch The Killing, people. We must stand up to bad television.

You obviously didn't read everything I said.

Good hell, you guys have too much time on your hands. I'm lucky to get an hour to watch tv a day.

I've skimmed this thread a bit and thought the same thing. It seems like I barely have enough time to watch all the Jazz games.

Is Always Sunny has all of the seasons on Netflix. Revisited the last 2 seasons recently and I had forgotten how amazing they were. Cannot wait for this season to start next week.
