naw...Brook Lopez averaged a jaw-dropping 3.6 rebounds per game and 0.8 blocks per game as a true 7 footer. That is ****ing horrendous...Brook Lopez might be ahead of Al too.

Letting a perimeter player fly by to score doesn't hurt one's +/-. Got it. Thanks for the clarification.
Watson and Tinsley are far worse than Collison...Not to mention we only traded a lottery protected first and Kousta Koufos for Big Al...
sure it does, but way to react to an obvious oversimplification of my argument rather than engaging with the actual point i was making.
you can be a horrendous defender and still have a good +/- if you a) spend most of your court time playing with the right people, b) spend most of your court time with five-man units who score a lot.
boozer had a great +/- and was always near the top of the team in simple rating (including 2007 and 2008 when he had the highest simple rating on the team). how was his individual and team defense?
Why is the whole board obsessed with trading the Jazz's best player for below average role players?
Jefferson=highest PER on team, best simple rating on team. But let's trade him for a below average point guard b/c he's a "ballstopper." Then the Jazz can play real "team ball," whipping crisp passes around the perimeter, leading to contested 19 footers.

You know simple rating also accounts for the production of the guy Al's guarding, right?
I enjoyed your implication that all the Jazz's other stars are carrying Jefferson to an undeservedly high rating. Obviously, Jefferson has nothing to do with his "five-man unit scoring a lot." The reality couldn't possibly be that Jefferson does enough things well that, even with his defense factored in, he's a clear net positive to the team.
