Big Al for Darren Collison and future 1st rounder?

Letting a perimeter player fly by to score doesn't hurt one's +/-. Got it. Thanks for the clarification.

sure it does, but way to react to an obvious oversimplification of my argument rather than engaging with the actual point i was making.

you can be a horrendous defender and still have a good +/- if you a) spend most of your court time playing with the right people, b) spend most of your court time with five-man units who score a lot.

boozer had a great +/- and was always near the top of the team in simple rating (including 2007 and 2008 when he had the highest simple rating on the team). how was his individual and team defense?

And that ladies and gentlemen is how an asswhooping is handed out.

Why is the whole board obsessed with trading the Jazz's best player for below average role players?

Al might score the most points, but there are such major holes in his game that we do not all agree that he is currently the best player on the team or that he will be the best player even a year from now. Also his contract price is insanely high at roughly 15 million next year.

Jefferson=highest PER on team, best simple rating on team. But let's trade him for a below average point guard b/c he's a "ballstopper." Then the Jazz can play real "team ball," whipping crisp passes around the perimeter, leading to contested 19 footers.

He ran you and Sloan out of town. Also, how is Denver doing since trading Carmelo? How did Phoenix do once they got rid of Marbury?

WWWWHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTTTTT?????????????

When the ball stopper left the team, the team did better? NO WAY.

You know simple rating also accounts for the production of the guy Al's guarding, right?

I enjoyed your implication that all the Jazz's other stars are carrying Jefferson to an undeservedly high rating. Obviously, Jefferson has nothing to do with his "five-man unit scoring a lot." The reality couldn't possibly be that Jefferson does enough things well that, even with his defense factored in, he's a clear net positive to the team.

Says the proof when Al went out for 4 games last year and the Jazz offense screeched to a halt....oh wait, it didn't change at all.

Says the proof that Al has carried teams to the playoffs multiple times including some deep runs...oh wait, he didn't.

Says the proof that Al puts teams on his back and gets them wins in OT....oh wait, he didn't.

Al is a nice player. A wonderful sixth man. Nothing more, nothing less.
