well thanks. i enjoy discussing all things jazz, even/especially the stuff that doesn't have a clear, easy, unrefutable answer. it's why i was very active in lopez/arroyo debates, ak's role discussion, and of course the ever-controversial "how pointy are larry miller's elbows?" debate. like you, i enjoy posters with whom i can simultaneously disagree and enjoy a grown-up discussion.

As someone that was never on the Al train and used to be the outsider, I advise that you take into consideration that the Jazz got him for trash, the Jazz mysteriously stopped working, and the majority of the people that have intently watched him play - and gave him a chance - think he's the odd man out at best.

Let me emphasize, the Timberwolves BEST offer they got for Al was his salary off the books, Koufos (who they didn't care for), and two bust-zone draft picks. What a haul.

So you have a couple big men that are decent/good on defense, and undersized PF that can score, and a bunch of shooters that have a man on them at all times.
Sounds like a plan.... if the Jazz brass were preparing to completely rebuild towards being good in maybe 3 or 4 years.

The first lesson in Bizarro Basketball 101 is shooters need spacing. What a nightmare it would be if defenses played the perimeter honest, the Jazz would never score!!1

Do you live in a cave? Tell you what, go to Realgm and start a thread about Al's value and see what kind of feedback you get from the rest of the league. Then get back to us.

Are you kidding me? If we were having a dumbest poster contest there's not a chance he would even make the playoffs.

yeah i tend to agree. i don't always agree with scorp, but at least he's someone who will actually have an informed debate about something.

dumb =/= someone who sees things differently than i do and disagrees with me in an intellectually honest way. dumb = the guy who says, "al jefferson is a better center than bobby hansen because tuesdays are ketchup. if you can't see that, then your mom ate paint chips when she was pregnant."
