Bill Simmon's Trade Idea for Utah

I'd much rather see if the real Favors shows up next year then trade for Love to sit on the bench for 6 weeks. I disagree that Love makes us a contender, plus we need to see what Lyles grows into. Let's not forget this is still just his second year in the league, is very young. I still see him as having a high ceiling all Love does is make us better for a year or two and eat up roster $$. He's not getting us a chip or anything close to it.

Whatever Lyles grows into will be a fraction of what love will be for the next three years and currently is.

Love is an all star, and the jazz would have three all stars if they got him. They immediately become dark horse contenders.

Another funny thing to consider is that Simmons really want to Hayward to sign in Boston, or at least he did a year or two ago. If this trade were to hypothetically happen, then there would probably be no chance that he signs anywhere but here (and Hill).

Love and Favors have always been on different levels. Love makes us a contender. This trade is a no brainer for Utah.

If we could get Love or Millsap for Favors and a couple picks, we would massively improve.

Millsap is not better than Favors when he's healthy. Love is, but not 2 first and 10 Million dollars a year better. I just wish Favors was healthy.

If wishes were fishes,....

How many years have you been whiffing on Millsap? Even if Favors returns to health, there are very low odds that he'll have a greater regular impact on games of basketball than Millsap has in his post-Utah career. Sadly, the Utah Jazz missed that period of production.

I love our Jazzmen, but the general over estimation of our players has kept us irrelevant for years. Lets look at the list of guys we did not trade because we valued them over their actual value:

Ostertag - I argue his contract cost Stock, Malone and Sloan a title

AK - awesome at PF but slipped at SF. Could have gotten us a haul to support Booz, Deron, and Okur.

Boozer - trading him was a no brainer, but we still didn't do it until it was too late

Big Al - a stat guy but not a winner and we still kept him when we could have built around Millsap and Favors

These decisions kept us from titles. These decisions kept us from relevance. Timing is everything, and yet we choose to wait until its too late even when we know what the outcome will be.

What really cost Utah a title was Ronnie Seikly (sp?) refusing that trade to Utah. IMO with that guy in the line-up Utah was a lock to win at least 1 of the 2 match-ups with the Bulls and could have possible had enough in the tank for Utah to win one during the lockout shortened season. Not only that, but having him as our starting Center probably nullifies Scott Layden's idea that we needed to lock up Ostertag with a large contract.

IMO that trade going **** up is the darkest day in Utah Jazz history and I still hope daily that Seikly gets Ebola.

Didn't we lock up Ostertag after our first finals run? But I agree and would have liked to see what we could have done with Seikaly.

Not that I will lose a wink of sleep over your decision to ignore my posts, but how did I miss again? There is truth to everything I posted. The ramifications might be up for debate, but the roster mismanagement is spot on.

That would have definitely helped us, but Ostertag making $9 per year when guys like Pippen (pretty sure) was making less was just ridiculous.

I can see it now. We get Love and he gets hurt like he does every year and we go on a rampage to trade him for millsap. Lol. If we trade Favs I hope it's for someone not made of glass.

"That's right, dude. He **** on your ****ing car."

Sheesh. This lopo dude has a weird perception of reality.

Seikaly tore his acl like a week after bot wanting to be traded. Then he never really came back. But he married a supermodel though. So there's that.

People always reference this but ACLs can be fairly random, unless you believe in fate.
