Bold Trade Idea

Paul Millsap was once a 6 year pro who hadn't taken us anywhere...

Yeah, because he was given so much confidence. Hey Paul, sit behind Boozer. Hey Paul, play SF. Hey Paul, go find a contract elsewhere and we might match. Hey Paul, we are gonna cut your minutes because we have this great prospect from NJ. Hey Paul, go ahead and leave because we have this kid who will take us to near .500 records while you make a franchise relevant.

Yeah, Millsap couldn't take us anywhere. He did play well for us in the playoffs. Back when we used to go...

What exactly are we winning if we do this trade? Favors and Millsap were very similar statistically last season. And while Korver can provide three point shooting off the bench he's not going to vault our win total by any significant margin.
It's about fit, spacing, leadership, x's and o's, strategy, basketball. Stats can be so missleading. Like I said before, even Philly players got stats last year. Favors and Gobert would not be able to play together much in the playoffs.

Millsap is a warrior who knows how to win. With him this last season, we make the playoffs.

LoPo's whole argument is about "intangibles" and "passion". What a turd of a thread. Can't believe he managed to lure so many people to reply.

I swear you're dumber than a pole

Okay kid. You know what potential gets you? Nothing. He's 6 years younger, big deal. Simmons is 10 years younger than LBJ so you would probably take Simmons.

Great players have them. Keep tracking stats. They win titles not winners.

Keep idolizing Favors as he has taken us nowhere. You were probably one of those guys crying to keep AK and his suffocating contract. Or Ostertag because he was such a solid center. Lot of good that did us.

You don't know basketball. It's okay. You're not alone.

I will agree that the spacing would be better with Millsap as opposed to Favors because he can step out and knock down a three, he can take his guy off the dribble, etc. But you have to remember Millsap didn't have those abilities early in his career, he developed them here. At only 24 years old, so can Favs. He's already shown improvement in his mid range game. If we traded for Millsap would we win a title in the next two to three years? No. Or even contend for one? No. To do that deal a title would have to be in reach because you are trading a key piece of your future for a 31 year old. It's about titles, not playoffs.

Millsap goes toe to toe with LeBron James and holds his own. He can do anything on a basketball court.

Favors goes toe to toe with the training staff over his back.

Millsap the guy who disappeared in the playoffs? Outside of 1 game (which his team lost) tried his hardest to choke away a series against Boston? He did not go toe to toe with Lebron. He choked. His team got swept. He won 0 games that is not toe to toe. Remember that 1-12 shooting game. How about that following that up with 8 points... Oh he had a big game (which his team lost) and then followed it with a 4-8 shooting game and 10 points where we didnt notice he was playing because he disappeared? He choked against Boston but his team carried him. But he did shoot threes at a clip of .242 in the playoffs.

At 6 years younger Favors scored almost the same amount of points off almost the same shots per game. Favors shot a better percentage. Favors turned the ball over less. Favors had a higher offensive rating. Favors had a better rebound percentage. Favors has done a lot of things better and is much better, more athletic and much younger. Favors shoots a better percentage form almost everywhere on the court except the 3 point line which he doesnt shoot from.

lol, kids these days, smh.

But perhaps you just don't know basketball? I mean the guy used the term "x's and o's". Take him seriously.

Because Millsap and Korver gotz all doez chips yo. Straight up went toe to toe with Lebron and almost won it all in dat 0--4 series. Good thing Lebron had Jr Smith and Love to carry him past him.

It's a win now move. It's not perfect. It's about fit and play style. Millsap fits next to Gobert perfectly.

We are a better team this year with Millsap and Korver over Favors, Burke and Ingles.

Think objectively if you have that abilty

Yeah, "think objectively" says the guy that has swept every stat and fact brought up under the rug while clinging to the narrative that Favors lacks "passion" and "intangibles".

I'm honestly asking this. On June 26, 2016 you think Favors is a better player than Millsap? All things considered at this moment for this season?

The kid is good, but we're talking about season games and we're talking about a 6 year pro who hasn't taken us anywhere. Millsap was the best player on the best Eastern Conference team last year.

Sent from my VS980 4G using JazzFanz mobile app
Hawks have not been the best eastern conference team since lebron was drafted

Yep. I would rather have Favors than Millsap. There are better players you could trade Favors for. Millsap is not a good enough upgrade if ur trading Favs IMO
