If we want to be adult about it and live in a free society, we'll need to take it.

For reference, I have a brother who lives in Boston (I have not heard from him today), and had two siblings and a mother who lived in NY during the Twin Towers attack. So, these words are not from a lack of empathy, but it's still important.

just heard a report - primarily speculation - that this is perhaps a domestic terrorist action rather than international
two reasons the analyst thinks it may be domestic:
1 - the fact that no group has yet claimed credit, international organizations are typically quick to claim credit
2 - the time frame, OKC, Columbine, Branch Davidians, VA Tech, etc - these and other events have all taken place around the IRS income tax deadline/Hitler's birthday

Well expect the gun registration bill to be rammed through the senate and house now "for our protection"

Thoughts with the injured and families.
 
This is getting old. Do we need to step up our punishments? Add in some torture? Stop making violent video games and movies? I'd be willing to give up my call of duty if it meant fixing this society. It needs to be cured because every few weeks a school it shot up or a bomb is going off. Too much violence and anger. This country needs to be fixed

If I learned anything from 9-11 is that you should not let these attacks change who you are. That's the goal of the attackers. Giving them what they want will not stop this.

I agree with the other guy. Way too many coincidences here. Black powder, homemade bombs that were designed to maim - not necessarily kill - sounds a lot like someone who has an axe to grind, but didn't want to kill anyone. I can see a whacko gun control moron thinking that this would help their cause; get the sheep scared enough, and they'll submit to anything.

I turned on my police scanner for the Boston area right after it went down and it was nuts. They were talking about the bomb at JFK about a half an hour before they reported it on ABC. They also reported the death of a woman who didn't die from the actual bomb/shrapnel, but of the concussion of the blast. Horrible, horrible, horrible.

I feel bad for the runners trying to escape the chaos after the bombs went off. They just ran a marathon it can't be easy running for your life in that condition.
