So let me get this straight - you're above starting posts politicizing this tragedy but you apparently have no problem perpetuating discussions which do just that?

Rushing to say that the left will use this to get rid of guns is as stupid as those who rush to blame it on the right.

So using the basis of past events to formulate an opinion on future events is as stupid as throwing around blame and hate?

Rushing to do anything without facts is pointless in a case like this. Everyone needs to just take a deep breath and wait for some facts before we start assigning blame and trying to come up with how to fix it when we don't even know what it is.

As for them banning guns. It will never happen so I am not terribly worried about it.

If you don't think that the left is going to use this tragedy, in some form or another, to help push gun control, then I question your critical thinking skillz. Some of those nut-bags have no problem with doing this very thing by having the parents of the Sandy Hook shooting speak at hearings, etc. It's intellectually dishonest to stoop to such a level, but they've been doing it for months. This will likely be just another cog in their wheel that is rolling to worthless gun laws and reform.

Nobody is rushing to do anything. If you look at what has been going on regarding gun control in the last six months, you'll see that this theory has substantial credibility. But here's the best part: It's just a theory and/or opinion. Nobody is going to jail for it. Nobody is going to die because of it. And I don't see anyone trying to "fix" it either. As for them banning guns, I agree with you, it will never happen. Of course, anyone who ever thought, or currently thinks, that that was ever a remote possibility (I didn't think there were people stupid enough to believe such things -- then I logged on to facebook...) should set an appointment for a vasectomy/hysterectomy ASAP.

In this very thread are those theorizing that it was the Tea Party and that the Dems will go after guns. Seems like a rush to judgement to me.

Also saying something is stupid does not mean I do not think they will do it. Just that I think they are stupid if they do.
 
Speculation is fine and dandy as long as it is acknowledged as such. When people start insisting their speculation is fact it gets a little annoying.

Ok this is where I take a stand. Lunatic was the one speculating on guns. No one else. And honestly, I don't see anyone of importance using this to shove gun regulation down our throats. More security at public events? Probably. Gun regulation? I don't think so. Besides, this has been beaten to death already by this current congress. They aren't changing their minds until new elections are made.

Absolutely, my initial reaction was that it was some anti-fed/Obama/tea bagging Tim mcveigh nutcake wanting to take a stand IN BOSTON on TAX DAY. I don't see why this would offend anyone or why it would seen crazy to think that. Until more details come out we are left to our assumptions. My assumptions are that it was some pissed off domestic person/group wanting to be jackasses on tax day.
 
If it is a domestic terrorist they sure did chose the worst target possible as far as striking the enemy or gaining any sort of public sympathy.
 
Does every sports station -- including 1280zone and ESPN -- have to make this about their revenue? Ya, it's Redsox vs. Yankees, we get that.

Taking advantage of tragedy for gain makes me sick.

The Caroline in "Sweet Caroline" is Caroline Kennedy - JFK's daughter. Neil Diamond wrote the song about her when she was like 11 years old - creepy.

Being the Kennedy's are from MA I always thought that was the connection. I dunno.
