Boston vs Utah for Hayward

If the celtics land the number 1 pick tonight, someones offer would have to absolutely blow them away to even think about trading it. I don't care what Fultz would think, he'd start as a backup for thomas unless he outplays him and that's it.

You're also judging Fultz to Exum without Fultz even playing 1 game yet.
If they get the number 1 pick or any pick and keep it that is good news for Jazz keeping Hayward. A rookie won't increase haywards interest in going to that team. If they trade that pick for someone like Butler or George that might convince Hayward to leave for them.

And that could definitely happen. I have no doubt the Bulls would trade Butler for Fultz. The Pacers would too but I wouldn't want george for a 1 year rental

Fultz would sit behind Mack and Neto as well on Snyders team. One blown defensive assignment he's on the bench and Snyder would send Fultz in the corner to shoot 3 pters. We've all seen he stifles team speed for controlling all the players on the court.

Again, I think Hayward's #1 goal is personal development. He took a big step and became an All Star. He grew in the playoffs. He thinks he can open his game up even more, and he'll be able to do that as the focal point of the Jazz's offense. I think Hayward stays one more year, sees how good he can become, and sees what the competitive landscape of the league looks like a year from now.

Boston has some pieces, but they don't fit that great. There's a limit to how far a team with a ball-dominant 5'8" PG can go. The Celtics made their run in the 3rd quarter yesterday when IT went to the bench, as he was getting abused by John Wall and Otto Porter on defense. Their interior defense and rebounding is mediocre at best. The Wizards have an average front court and out-rebounded the Celtics badly throughout the series.

All these guards and wings the Celtics have -- Bradley, Smart, Rozier, Crowder, etc. are good, but not great players. If Hayward goes to Boston, the team is IT, Hayward and Horford, with mostly guards and wings as complementary players. Jaylen Brown could be good. Their next draft pick will be good, but they'll be a couple years from those young players developing.

Hayward might end up going to Boston, but I really don't think it will be this offseason.

Hayward would excel under Steven's offense. It is designed to get wings shots outside and inside. Hayward would be perfect in the flex. Sadly, Stevens offense is the closest thing in the NBA to what I consider "classic Jazz offense." Flex, UCLA, with some motion and horns mixed in. After the beating we took by GS, then watching the Spurs take it to GS until Leonard was injured does not inspire a lot of confidence of where this team stands vs. the top tier teams. I hope he stays, and if it is truly about the $ I think he may stay to see if he can make All NBA next year. If he does not, we likely lose him.

Here in Boston the sports radio crowd basically think it's a done deal. Hayward is coming to Boston. In my humble opinion, these are the only two real options for Hayward. Below is my attempt to create a list for why he chooses Utah or Boston over the other.

Why Utah...

-MONEY
-Already made is home here with is family and a connection to the community
-It's relatively close to his second home in San Diego
-He trust's the coaching staff and development he receives
-Likes Quin, players and the system
-Boston is much colder than Utah
-Doesn't like the idea of playing with Isaiah Thomas, as he has to dominate the ball
-Will be hard for him to turn his back on Utah, he knows he will be hated forever

Why Boston...

-Obviously, has a connection with Brad Stevens
-See's the Celtics with a brighter future (already good, cap space, multiple lottery picks)
-Figures LeBron is aging and over the next 5 years and it will be easier to get out of the eastern conference
-Larger market
-As David Locke says he has no bad blood with a new team (still seems hurt by the last contract/Charlotte situation)

When I weigh these options to me they seem fairly even, but then the MONEY factor comes in and tips the scale in Utah's favor.

Here's another item in the "Why Utah" column: would almost certainly get his jersey retired if he is a career jazz man.

Hayward is also very close to multiple teammates and close friends. His wife is also friends with some of the players family. That is a huge factor.

My friends are one of the biggest reason I have not taken job offers that would make me move in the past.

I think what we've all actually seen is your relentless agenda against Snyder ever since he started cutting Enes Kanter's minutes. Your posting history is insane - over 1,000 posts and almost all of them anti-Snyder rants.

Which ones?

Which ones?
Is Hayward close to? I know Ingles and Hayward are very good friends. Favors and Hayward have always hung out and have a connection. I know Hayward looked up to and relied a lot on JJ and Hill. Honestly I don't really know how close any of them are, just what they post and say. But all of the team has talked this season about how close they were. After this long with all the players and how much time they spend together some of them have to be close.

Or are you asking which of my friends? If so, you got me. I made the friends part up.

and a 1,000 posts from you trying to poke me in the a$$,so you know what I think you are .....

Well, Boston got the 1st pick.

Is there anyway they can trade for Butler and clear enough cap-space to offer Hayward? They could build a super-team.

Just browsing the Celtics forum, they seem super opposed at trading that #1 pick. Ainge is pretty stingy maybe they play the long game and just try to lure a max free agent. If not Hayward this year, they can go for Paul George next year.
