At this point - this trade looks to be one of those rare occassions that worked/is working out to both teams' benefit.
Nets got (and kept) a superstar and credibility to take to Brooklyn, and the Jazz got a wonderful foundation in their rebuilding process. We can judge this move again in 2-3 years, but as of now you can't say 1 team completely fleeced the other. It was a great move for the position the Jazz were in, and it was a big risk for the Nets that appears to have paid off and could be a complete homerun if they land Dwight.
I'm quite happy with Favors/Kanter/Burks (Burks - because it's less likely we're picking 12th if we hang on to Deron), the future GSW pick and Marvin Williams the player (if not the contract) just as I'm sure Brooklyn fans will be to welcome a Nets team that is definitely a top-5 team in the East and could be a bonafide contender if they land Dwight. Win-win...so far.
