Burke Slams Media

Good for you Burke.

Also lol at all the pointless Jody hate. Get a grip people.

I'm glad no one on this board is our GM lol giving up on a lottery pick after 2 years haha

Honest question. What has Burke done or shown on the court to give you hope?
Lol not all athletes peak in their first few years, we are a small market we can't afford to draft lottery players and give up on them and let them go....not how small market's build a winning team.

Jody gessy always thinks it's ok to yell to other when he can do it too? Shame! Disgrace! He says to anyone that we can trade favors and jazz want milsap and it show that jazz were not even candidates for milsap. Liar! Stop try trade Favors!!! And I know Favors probably thinks same thing about Gessy.

I'm waiting to see what Stifle Towers thinks of this.

Jazz have a history of showing they don't really do this, especially in the DL era.

Aside from a few mild improvements (his stutter on his drives last year for example, something Franklin* pointed out to me) Burke has gotten worse across the board.

I am not for ditching all our draft picks. I even wanted Kanter to stay. But I just do not see Burke making it and I think he needs to go.

I am all for keeping Favors, Hayward, Burks, Hood, Gobert, Lyles and Exum. So this is not a "giving up on draft picks" thing. It's a "I think that Burke won't cut it" thing.

Honestly I hope Burke makes me eat my words but I do not think he will.

I'm obviously not a fan of Burke either, but I think one aspect of his game that people tend to overlook is his dribbling.

I would argue that his dribbling is elite. I mean he doesn't have the speed or quickness to fully utilize that skill, but he is probably the only player on the Jazz (maybe Rodney Hood too) who I feel absolutely comfortable with when it comes to holding onto the ball and slowing down the game.

I don't blame jody, I'm sure the jazz management looked at every option for the team, like they should. So it could have been true, it's just a scenario that could play out. It was a solid for sure thing to happen.

Show me ONE post where I have advocated trading Derrick? You can't because I have never said that. I have only surmised, based on all the rumors that LINDSEY has tried to trade him the past 2 years.

I really am flattered that you have such a problem with me.

Think about it. Jody's source is probably some agent, or someone like that, who heard about Millsap' agent getting a call. I seriously doubt he is the one guy who has full access and knowledge to what the Jazz are doing and thinking. That's what it would take to know both ideas that they want Millsap and want to trade Favors.
I don't remember jody saying that the jazz WANTED to trade favors. Just that there were rumors of a possible trade. (That rumor could have came from an un-jazz related source like an employee of a different team.... Or it could have been jazz personnel commenting on an offer for favors from another team.)

But I just do not see Burke making it and I think he needs to go.

Even Bolerjack was on air talking about trading Burke. I was shocked someone of his stature would even mention something like that. Everyone knows it's time to move on.

You didn't answer the question

Interesting. I did not hear that. I really think that Burke's days in Utah are limited.

I did think the remark about the highlight video being a Vine was pretty funny. So Trey, just shut them up by being a good shooting PG instead of an inefficient ball hog. That's all it would take to have us "haters" become Burke fans.

Yeah, there were multiple reports - including from national media - in the run-up to the draft. I was surprised he wasn't part of a package to move up a slot or two, but I'm confident it wasn't for lack of trying.

Yeah - the biggest mistake Jody made, in my mind, was not confirming what he was hearing from a second source. That happens all the time in sports and trade journalism, whereas it's impossible to even get a piece published without double-sourcing (and having those sources fact-checked and authenticated by an editor.) Doesn't mean that the rumor wasn't actually true, doesn't mean that someone didn't tell him it - but as Hack said earlier, it could have been an agent looking for leverage. No way of knowing - which is why double sourcing is important.

Agreed.
