Burks or Rush?

Who's going to start? I know we secretly want Burks to start, but I think I like him coming off the bench better...and I think Rush might just be a better player (if healthy).

So, who's going to start and who will get more minutes?

To be honest I do not care as long as he gets significant time.

Healthy Rush will start.

Bigger question.. is Evans really the primary backup at the 4 or will Ty just slide Kanter/Favors to the 4 and bring Bieds in?
How much time will Evans actually get? How much does he deserve?
and why does NBA.com still list Mo, Tinsley and Carroll on the Jazz?

so many questions...

I think a sixth man role might be perfect for Burks a la Hayward last year. Hopefully it would allow him to be a very high usage player which IMO is something he has potential to excel at.

Lindsey has said that they want Burks to be the scorer off the bench.

So, to answer your question, Rush or neither.

Not sure who will start, but Burks brings good energy.. and Rush, if hitting his 3's.. will likely start.

It makes sense to have Rush in there with Hayward to make space for Burke to operate as well as our bigs. Burks doesn't do that for the team quite as well.
I'm not hating, just speaking to the team make up.

I think Rush starts, if healthy. However, I wouldn't be surprised to see Burks move into the starting lineup mid-season.

Yeah everything I've read is Rush should be ready for training camp, now like anybody coming off of a major injury I'm sure he wont be as in shape as the other players and will likely going through things at a slower pace and/or be left out of some drills and I would also imagine even come game time they would probably limit his minutes. Also players like to come in while they're loose so it also makes sense to start him but he'd be the first guy to come out and thus giving Burks the most minutes between the two.

I'm sure they'll be looking at Burks' efficiency in catch-and-shoot situations, particularly the floor-spacing three-point shot. If he's doing this well, then he should start. We are improved by his ability to get to the rim and draw fouls.

In addition, Burks needs to show:
1. The right decisions on when to shoot vs. when to drive
2. Overall improvement in perimeter defense.

I'd like to see burks start. But I almost think he would do better off the bench being the go to guy. With him starting he wouldn't get as many touches.

Jefferson will start, which I'm okay with as it will push Hayward to the 2.

That's the main concept. Give him more of a role like at Colorado where he had a high usage rate. He wouldn't bring the ball up, but would facilitate most the offense once at half court. Lucas III or Clark can then just be asked to do what they do best, hit three pointers.
