Call for Andy Larsen and Ben Dowsett to Resign From Salt City Hoops

I get a kick how a lot of these guys pretend we don't exist, then copy our discussions for their afternoon radio shows.

Really they are no more than glorified fans anyway. More than a few folks in here have a pretty solid understanding of the game and are every bit as qualified to pontificate about it. But you gotta give them kudos for turning what could be a fan forum post into something that generates some kind of an income.

No doubt. All I'm doing is patting us on the backs about it. I like listening to Monson, David James, & PK. They're very eloquent when they want to be. DJ especially. Spence Checketts is obnoxious trying to play the villain to Monson all the time and thinking he's funny when he's not. He never really says much that's insightful. But hey, his daddy has money so he deserves a place in the spotlight too.

Actually, DJ and PK lead the conversation with their show. They aren't reading fans and repeating what they say.

Your interview questioning is far superior to everyone else's. Jody et al. throw softballs, while you're throwing corkscrews. Keep it up.
Thanks, I try. BTW, if you (or anyone) ever have a question you'd like answered, tweet or email me to ask it.

I totally agree here: we are glorified fans who figured out how to get a bigger profile through blogs and media, and occasionally knowing the right people.

It doesn't make much of an income: I essentially make no money doing SCH. Ben makes a little bit more writing for Basketball Insiders, but not much. I make some money when my articles make ESPN.com.

But one of the reasons I check in on JazzFanz occasionally is to see if there's anyone who's consistently bringing good writing and insight, and then try to get them to join SCH. As you guys know, Laura is a JazzFanz member (though her # of posts has dropped off), and now she's a great part of our staff.

I'll be honest: I absolutely do read this board, RealGM, SLCDunk, FB and Twitter to try to get a sense of what fans/people are talking about when we plan our radio show. I guess I have two choices here: I can not read you guys, and talk about something fans aren't really interested in (which, quite frankly, we do a lot anyway), or we can read the topics, and talk about the relevant stuff. I've given JazzFanz numerous shoutouts on air for influencing whatever we're talking about. If you think I should do that differently, I'd honestly like to know how.

Again, Andy, you're the best Jazz beat writer.

Frank just hates it when ppl like Locke quite obviously rip talking points from Jazzfanz without bringing it up explicitly on air. It's a bummer.

Side note: there's a poster called vslice02 (@JazzBasketball1) who posts here-- easily the best basketball mind I've ever seen on jazzfanz. He doesn't post here anymore, but he'd be a huge pickup if he started posting on salt city hoops

Side note, Jason: can we get Andy Larsen's twitter added to the Jazz Media feed? He puts out some really great information, certainly on par with Falk/T. Jones.

And since we're on the subject, can we get Ian Clark removed from the Jazz Player feed?
Done, thanks

People actually take Cy seriously on stuff like this?! Lol. Some of yall are simple.

And we had a lady poster here? That seems rare for message boards! Who is Laura?

This is a great thread.

I admit, I stood by and let Ben do this to you, Cy. It was a grave injustice, and I'm sure I'll hear about it from Rodney later. I'm sorry. I realize that this apology isn't enough to heal the BUTT HURT you feel right now.
