What's new

Call me a homer a thousand times

Let the record show that I've never doubted Al has a good heart. Whether he actually shows it in the right way on the court, or whether he has a desirable intellect is another story.

Not a bad post, pootie .. even with all the hyperbole and altish-like comments. Btw, I'm trying to remember who your writing style is eerily reminiscent of ..

I'll get it.

I'm going to swim against the tide and say not just no, but hell no to Cousins, if, in fact, there is anything to actually say "no" to. I have seen the type of player that Cousins is many, many times over the years in many different sports (talented but mercurial) and it always ends the same. After a couple of years the player wears out his (or her) welcome, and gets passed on to another team who thinks their on-court/field contributions will outweigh the melodrama they bring, or they think that they can "fix" them, but two years later the cycle starts again.

We'd have Cousins for 2 disruptive seasons, max, before he gets shipped out. If you are one of the posters who want to trade for him - would you still make your trade knowing in 2 seasons he'll be gone for cents in the dollar?

20 pages and still not an ounce of info.

Can't you see what PKM is doing here? He's trying to make the remaining 2 weeks before training camp go faster.

It's Tuesday when the news is revealed. Then it's "OH actually it's NEXT Tuesday".

Then before you know it - 2 weeks' up and we're home & hosed.

You've got to appreciate good art when you see one. Just sit back and enjoy. LOL.

While I share in this to a degree, Karl Malone and Dennis Rodman were both ********. In fact, so was Shaq. Rasheed Wallace is a great example of the ultimate POS selfish player that got it together enough to be a key piece on a great team.

I was thinking about Malone and Rodman too. Risky but look at what both of hose guys did for their teams.

Sacramento is going to want to dump their problem children on us-Tyreke Evans and Cousins. I think Cousins is worth the risk and Evans isn't. But is it worth taking Evans on just to get Cousins?

Yes.

EDIT: Not if we have to give up more than 2 members of the core.

That is assuming that Sacramento knows what they are doing. I would point to the last few years as a sign that they have no clue how to win in the NBA anymore.

If you think that Sac will give up Thomas then you are asking to overpay.

Did Sactown bring in a replacement for Thomas? Petrie is a good GM, he just lost his way at looking at talent over personality. Besides the fact everyone applauded their picks of Evans and Cousins. You are just assuming they don't know what they are doing. Besides it really depends on who initiated the conversation. It was well know that the Kings were shopping both guys last year so to dismiss the idea that Cousins/ Evans are bigger headaches than their talent would not be a smart move. Again I would move cautiously and really don't know what I would trade until I see the entire package. I just think some of these deals AJ/Kanter/GS pick with Burks is way overpaying for a player who isn't wanted by a team.
