Can the Shelvin Mack experiment please end?

Yeah, this is literally the 1st thing I have ever disagreed with Snyder. I think it is a job security move. The Jazz should make up their minds, is it rebuilding or is it saving the day with 500 ratio and mediocrity?

What the heck am I talking about! This is Quin Snyder we're talking about. He is raising Mack's value to trade him for future draft picks! Of course, dumb me.

Seriously doubt his job is in jeopardy. He's doing exactly as Dennis has mandated (unlike Ty). Lindsey made the trade, Quin is using Mack how he dictates is the best fit. Obviously that means they have given up on Burke. What it DOES mean is the Jazz are trying to make the playoffs. Yes, I would have liked our PG to have been Teague or Hill. But they weren't available at the right price. You can certainly see why Lindsey probably just hung up the phone when teams wanted Hood. As critical as I have been of Lindsey, I always supported NO move at the deadline if it entailed getting rid of very good players unless a star came back in the package.

You said he is clearly an up and down player. You used the word clearly.

over his first ten games with utah he was awful.. he had an average GmSc of 5.6 (10 being the league average, thus an average over 10 games of 5.6 is awful for a starter) -- over his last three games his GmSc has been an average of 15.8 -- (though, as you say, small sample size... that said... his performance so far, coupled with his history as a 3rd string pg at best, give strong indications that he is and will be an "up and down" player)

Or being a 3rd string PG makes you inconsistent because you are getting inconsistent minutes. He was pretty consistent (or as consistent as most non-star NBA players go) in his 1 year under Quin as the 2nd string PG.
