What's new

Cars that you like

Ok barring even MORE problems, it looks like this will be our new car in Germany. Going to see it again tomorrow, take it for a drive, and transfer money if everything checks out:

Stock photo but the one we are looking at is basically identical, and also black.

I effing love these cars. E class wagon right? Are you getting the diesel?

C class, CDI, diesel. It is faster than you would think with lots of low end. It gets off the line way fast, especially for an automatic and we had it well over 130 on the autobahn for a test drive, pretty effortlessly, it would easily top 160 but I think it is governed at 155. It is used with relatively high miles, but for a Mercedes it is more or less broken in. And it is loaded, everything except navi, which doesn't bug me because all of the cars I have had with navigation I preferred my own GPS anyway. And he took exceptional care, never missed a service or anything and it runs so smooth. Buying it from a doctor at church who wants a new car so he has to sell 1 of his 2, either this or a BMW 1 series. He is cutting us a serious deal on it.

edit: the dude we are buying it from is really cool. He loves Americans and is a grandfatherly type. He told us he won't sell it to us unless it is in perfect shape, so he is buying brand new tires, he is giving us the winter tires he bought for it last fall, and he is having it professionally detailed, as well as some small blemishes inside repaired, really nothing at all but he won't let us take it until it is perfect. He is also replacing the windshield because it has a tiny little pit in it that I could feel with my fingernail but couldn't even see. And still it is a seriously good deal, easily 5k less than the same care on autoscout24.de. Basically we said we had money for a solid down and he said he would just take that and call it even.

Some nikka's just have all the luck.

Log, the car you got is seriously my dream car. That is an awesome ride. The diesel is supposed to last forever. I have personally seen some of those diesels go over 1,000,000 miles with only routine maintenance. Also, if you go over 1,000,000 miles, then Mercedes will give you a new car for free, or at least they used to. Have fun with it. European diesels are a joy to drive.

Picking it up tomorrow. I'll post pictures later.

I'm not a big car nerd or anything but I know a little bit about a little bit.

Anyway, yesterday was Luftgekühlt and there was some fire to be viewed!

One of my dreams in life is to own a Porsche.

They auctioned off a rally Porsche that was built by a bunch of folks in the Porsche world. The vehicles value was 100k according to the auctioneer. Bidding started at 60k. Sold at $275,000!!!!!

I've seen a few of those concepts. They all look freaking awesome.

Also, the Jeep truck concepts look sweet.

If I get the white Bronco as seen above (though preferably without the words on the windshield and the sides), I may get a license plate that simply reads...OJ.

From what I understand I think they haven't finalized the body yet, but the designs people have made are just concepts.

I saw one that looked like a late 60's model. It nearly made me cream in my pants.

May have to get the 2020 Ford Bronco when it comes out.

As b-line noted, there have been several artist's conceptualizations of what the new Bronco may look like. As far as I can discern, none of them are based on much more than speculation. Many are cool, though. I would be disappointed if there weren't some styling that hearkened back to the first generation of Bronco.

I am, of course, highly interested in this. What I've gleaned from the numerous articles written (most of them devoid of any real information) is that the Bronco will likely share a platform with the also-resurrected Ford Ranger. This seems practical as both will be built at Ford's Michigan plant, and a Bronco of this size would compete with the Jeep Wrangler, which has no significant competition in its segment of the SUV market. Wrangler is living proof that a two-door, small 4x4 is viable in the automotive marketplace.

My greatest hope though, is that Ford produces a Raptor version of the Bronco.

That would be bad ***.
