Hmm... I own an Amazon Kindle, however, I do like Chik-fil-a on occasion. I also went to Starbucks a couple of days ago and I'm typing on an hp right now! I just shopped at Globus... does anyone know which charity they donate too? Personally, I only have donated money to CFCA-USA which is my charity of choice. Unfortunately, now it looks like every retail purchase we make is going to be looked at as a donation. Am I culpable to the ideology of Starbucks just because I enjoy a caramel frappuccino every now and then? Am I hypocritical because I downloaded the Catechism of the Catholic Church on the Amazon Kindle?
What about Greg Miller, he owns the Utah Jazz? Should all homosexuals boycott the Utah Jazz because the Miller's refused to show "Broke back Mountain" in theaters? (Which I presume is anti-homosexual). I'm also a devout Catholic... should I become a New Orleans Hornets fan because Benson is a Catholic while the Miller's are LDS?
I seriously hope that this Chik-fil-a support/boycott is just an anomaly and is not a precursor to an economic-culture war. What we need in this society are sides willing to speak with each other with dignity and empathy. Of course, in order to accomplish this ideal, both sides would have to stop resorting to cheap one liners and name calling. But what can we honestly expect? People are just treating each other via the example that is given to them by their politicians.
